Almost There in Eastern Kentucky

We were almost in Eastern Kentucky when my tennis shoes wore out. I did not have another pair of shoes. My dad stopped by the general store in Lexington Kentucky and bought me a pair of new tennis shoes. They were black and, blue ones.I knew we didn't have too many more days and we will be in Eastern Kentucky. It was a very long trip. My mom was sick a lot due to pregnancy. Her clothes were getting tight so , when I got my new shoes ; dad bought her some new material to make a dress . He also bought her a new dress that was already sewed. It was plain blue with lace at the bottom. He bought himself some tools for building our new house in Eastern Kentucky. We finally got there after a bit more traveling. We had to camp out a few more nights.We had to eat outside. Finally we arrived in Somerset ,Kentucky and, the mountain in Kentucky were so breath taking and marvelously beautiful. I loved the fresh air in Eastern Kentucky. It was in Cumberland Falls were we settled. We found land there for 50 dollars an acre. My dad bought 40 acres and ,we settled on that. land. At first we slept in the wagon or, outside.Dad built the cabin for us to live in.
