Alex couldn't wait for the evening to end. Her feet hurt, her back hurt, even her smile hurt, and of course, the presence of Cruella had spoiled the whole party. They had worked so hard to put this together, and now she couldn't enjoy it. She had a really bad feeling about this night and just wanted to get it over with.
She looked out the door and saw a ghost from her past. It couldn't be. Fermin entered the party as if he owned it and walked right toward her. She was frozen in place by the awkwardness of the situation. His eyes were different, somehow; a self-assurance that was not there before.
“Hola, princesa.” He kissed her temple and offered one of his smug smiles.
What to do? Push him, run, scratch the son of the b***h all over. Do something.
