Suraj stood there not able to drag his legs away. He knew that she would be there. It's been a long time. Is he ready to face her and her questions? Her silly questions made his lips curved up. He called her softly from behind.
"Shagu" his voice was so low as he whispered. His voice melted in the air as she dropped the watering jug instantly. She could recognise his voice even in sleep. How much did she miss his ramblings?
"Suraj?" She called him softly even without turning to his side. He smiled broadly seeing how she recognised him even after years. After all, it's not any random bond they shared. It's a strong childhood bond. He knew everything about her and she could do anything for his smile.
Shagun turned and looked at him without blinking. He looked too old when she met him for the last time. She ran to his side in no seconds and grabbed him for a bear hug without thinking about anything. His eyes watered seeing her in his arms. He wrapped her securely and swirled along with her.
Arjun came outside hearing the sound of the jug. He looked surprised to see Shagun all emotional and hugging Suraj.
"Where have you been all these years? Why did you leave me?" Shagun asked as a loud sob escaped her lips? She misses him too much these days. Especially when her father expired, she wanted to lean on him to cry her heart out. But he was not there.
"I am sorry. I had reasons to leave this city. But I missed you too much" Suraj replied and wiped down her tears.
"Do you guys know each other?" Arjun asked breaking their huggy time as Suraj gets away from Shagun instantly. No man would like when another man hugs his wife. Suraj doesn't want to create any difficulty in Shagun's life.
"Do you remember, Arjun? I have told you about my best friend, Sandy. This is him" Shagun exclaimed happily. Arjun smiled broadly as he asked Surja to get inside again to have at least a cup of coffee. Shagun was constantly praising Suraj and his bond with her. Suraj didn't see even an ounce of jealousy or insecurity in Arjun's eyes. Instead, he looked too cool. Maybe both are too close. That's what Suraj concluded.
Shagun explained to Arjun how Suraj and she knew each other since they were 8 years old and they can't spend a day without talking with each other. But after finishing their studies, Suraj left the city without informing anyone, not even Shagun.
"Shagun's father is a gentleman. He financed my studies and helped me a lot." Suraj explained his side of the story. All the people around them called Suraj, a gold digger. They didn't leave any opportunity to let him feel so low. They even linked Shagun with Suraj in a bad manner and he couldn't bear anything when it mattered to Shagun. He left the city with the only aim to become whatever with his capacity.
Arjun looked at Surja proudly.
"I am sorry Shagu" Suraj apologised to her. He knew how she must have been broken without him. He is responsible for all those. She smiled broadly at him in turn.
"Sandy, the past is the past. Now tell me about your life and wife?" Shagun asked, all excited. She is one pure soul in the world. She can't stay angry with anyone close to her for more than one minute. She always finds reasons to smile and laugh like there is no tomorrow.
"I am single," Suraj replied, making Shagun drop her jaws to the ground.
"Why?" She exclaimed sadly.
"When I saw your marriage in the news, how can I get married?" He asked in a flirtatious note-making Arjun laugh out loud. Arjun felt so happy after so many days. Shagun and Suraj's bond is so beautiful that it fills his heart.
"Even I tried attempting suicide" he added with faking his tears.
"Even if you were there, I would have never married you" Shagun replied annoyingly, making both the boys laugh at her expressions.
"Mom, who is this?" Pihu asked, interrupting them at the right moment.
"And why is he sitting close to you?" Pihu is always possessive about her dad and mom. She looked at Suraj and accused him of snatching her mom away from her dad. Shagun introduced Suraj to Pihu.
"Omg, don't tell me that this pretty young lady is your daughter" Suraj exclaimed as he slapped softly over her cheeks. Pihu smiled broadly accepting his compliments.

"Guys, how can that innocent poor girl know that you both are mom and son when you have never given that vibe. You both behave as if you are dating each other" Maddy threw his hands up in frustration. Ishu sighed tiredly. It's a fact anyways. But she can't change her behaviour with her son for anyone. Siddharth followed Mishty as if he didn't hear anything from Maddy.
"Am I visible? Can you all hear me?" Maddy asked as all started laughing loud.
"My baby" Neha hugged her son making him pout.
Sid stood there beside Mishty who was crying silently. The tears didn't stop at any point.
"Are you angry?" Sid asked as he saw her anger glares.
"Don't talk to me" she stuttered as she wiped her nose cutely. Sid found her too cute.
"You are a lioness but looks too cute when you cry like this," Sid commented and saw her sobs come into control.
"I am sorry" she mumbled and the regret in her voice was visible in her words. Sid felt so happy to get his name cleared from her mind. She is not any random girl that he can let her think about him like that.
"Your apology is accepted and you are forgiven, miss. bitter gourd." He commented, making her open her mouth wider.
"Bitter gourd?" She asked, annoyed.
"That's what you are" he replied casually and pats her nose suddenly making her eyes tap cutely.
"I have asked sorry. But it doesn't mean that you can do these types of stuff with me. Stay away from me if you want your life for yourself" Mishty pointed out her forefinger as Sid giggled at her antics.
"If that's the case, I should consider forgiving you" Sid turned away twisting his eyes.
"Listen, I am sorry for misjudging you and misunderstanding the situation. Should I beg on your knees or what?" Mishty is getting irritated now.
"What about you beg on my arms rather than knees?" He asked huskily, making her widen her eyes.
"He deserves more slaps right?" Ishu entered the scene as Sid widened his eyes. She twisted his ears marking him yelp in pain.
"Mom, I was just kidding. How can I flirt with anyone other than you?" He asked in between his beatings. Mishth could only smile at the mom and son. They looked too cute and sweet.
"Aunty, I am sorry. I know that you must have felt so hurt seeing me slapping your son right?" Mishtu asked as Ishu turned to her side with a smile.
"Hurt is a small word. You should have seen how much she was angry with you. She even bashed you with whatever words she knew." Maddy came there. Mishty lowered her eyelids, feeling so embarrassed to even stay there.
"As I said, he deserves more slaps. So don't worry." Ishu cupped her cheeks. Mishty hugged her instantly.
"I am going to miss you all," Mishty mumbled.
"Why? Where are you going?" Sid was the first to ask to break her hug from Ishu.
"I am going back to Mumbai. My dad has booked tickets for me" she replied and felt so bad. She wanted to spend more time with this cute family. She liked Ishu so much that she wanted to be with her for a little more time. Maybe she wanted to create at least one. Friendship zone with Siddharth. She wants to laugh with Maddy for all his lame jokes. Moreover, she wants to start with Shruthi to see her happy with her husband.
Mishty left the place after having lunch with all. Sid was silent after that. He didn't even ask her number or anything. He felt as if something was not right and he wanted to follow her to Mumbai. She is a unique piece and he doesn't want to let her go, at least not before creating a little bond with her.
"Is it love?" Ishu asked, massaging his hair as he was lying down on her lap. They came back to their home right after Mishty left there.
"Love? That cheap fever won't affect me." Siddharth replied getting up from her side
"But yeah, she is nice" he added and left the place making Ishu smile at his son.
