THE MAN ON HER MIND

The next morning after the birthday party of Mrs. Gina, Katrina still lay in bed, still having flashbacks of the conversations she had with William, Mrs. Gina’s son. She thought of the kind gesture he portrayed towards her when he noticed she was getting cold and offered to give her his suit jacket to keep her warm from the cold night.
With a big smile on her face and the sunrise beaming through her curtains, she had the most heavenly smile one could ever see in the morning.
“He’s such a sweet gentle man," Katrina said as she stood up from her bed, ready to take a shower so that she could start her day officially.
She takes her shower and heads down for breakfast with her family. Later in the afternoon, she decides to take a little walk around. She walks down to the garden inside the Leonardes' villa. Katrina was taking fresh air when her phone rang and it was her best friend Lucy calling.
Grrr, grrr, Katrina’s phone rings.
"Hello, baby face," she answered.
“Hey Katy, long time. How have you been?”
“Long time? We spoke yesterday," Katrina replied, giggling.
"Oh, I felt like it’s been ages since I last spoke to my best friend," Lucy said.
"Well, I went to a birthday party with my mom last night, and it was a blast."
“Is that all?” Lucy asked
“Uhhh yes, what were you expecting to hear from me?” Katrina asked
“Didn’t you meet any Prince Charming? Or a knight in shining armor," Lucy asked, giggling.
“Hahahah well, I met someone; he appears to be a gentleman, and I kind of like him, but…”
“But what, Katy?”
“But I don’t want to get my hopes up too much, and he might not be the right one for me; you know my experience with Ken," Katrina said.
“Hmmm, yes, I remember your experience with Ken, but it’s not the end of the world."
“By the way, have you forgotten what took you to your father’s house? You needed space to heal, so don’t hinder your healing process." Lucy said
Katrina paused for a moment, trying to digest what Lucy had just said, and thought to herself
“That’s not a bad idea at all."
“Just be cautious this time," Lucy said.
They went on chatting about other things, and Katrina asked Lucy about her personal life and what was going on.
“So tell me about yourself. What's going on with you?” Katrina asked
“Hmm, well, there's nothing new; I’m just the same old Lucy, you know."
“I miss you so much, Lucy," she said as tears welled up in her eyes.
“I miss you too, Katy."
A brief moment of silence followed.
“There’s something I need your opinion on, though."
“I was having a conversation with some colleagues at work, and I wanted to know your opinion on the topic."
"Okay, go on, baby face."
“Well, how would you feel to know that your best friend is now in a relationship with your ex?”
"Hmmm," Katrina said and paused for a moment before saying anything.
"Well, I won’t feel bad if I’m over him."
“Okay, let me give an example. How would you feel if you found out that Ken and I are now in a relationship?"
“Why are you using Ken for such an example?"
“Because that’s the situation I and my colleagues were discussing, and I wanted to know your opinion too."
“Well, if it’s been long since our breakup and I am completely over him, then you can date him of course."
“Okay I said something contrary to what you just said and they almost ate me up for my opinion, so I decided to share it with you”
"It would not be nice if my best friend and my ex dated.” Lucy added.
"Well, you have my opinion now, baby face; I don’t see a problem there." Katrina said
And shortly Lucy hung up and they both went about their day, Katrina was still thinking about the advice Lucy gave her to consider William.
