Chapter 16 - Mel-Hoe-Dy

1243 Words
I'd woken up this morning to so many messages from people, and notifications from being tagged in the video that Melody's friends had recorded. They'd uploaded the recording on every single social media platform available, and so far there were over 100 comments; most of which were people laughing at me. I made sure to leave my house extra early this morning, hoping to avoid as many people as possible. Jess texted to let me know she'd be back in school today, which was my one saving grace. At least I'd have a friend on my side. I just had to make sure we didn't run into Melody, or Jess would undoubtedly kick her ass. Moloch was also weighing heavily on my thoughts. Now that we'd been partnered up together, it means having to spend more time with him. Alone. After the kiss we shared, and the aftermath, I felt a little awkward on how to approach things with him. I couldn't even tell Jess. What would I say? That I 'kissed some half-demon boy in my dreams?' No matter how much Jess had my back, even that would be too extreme for her. As if he knew he was in my thoughts, I ran straight into him as he waited for me against my locker. He looked like he'd walked straight off a catwalk, far to beautiful for this world. Far too beautiful for me. "Good morning Abigail" He said, flashing me a swoon-worthy smile. Damn he looked handsome today. He was wearing a tight white t-shirt, showing his sculptured body off perfectly. He carried his leather jacket perched over one shoulder, showing his toned arms perfectly. I just wanted to run my hands all over him, to feel his muscles flex under my touch. What is this boy even doing to me? I'd never had such thoughts before him. He was seduction of the flesh. "It was a good morning until just now" I replied, opening my locker and shoving my things inside. "Are you sure about that? I mean, I saw the video of you and Mel-Hoe-dy. So many comments and shares.." "Enough." I interrupted, slamming my locker shut. "It's none of your business. Melody only started the fight with me because of you anyway! She told me to stay away from you.. So please! Just stay away from me!" "And what if I cant?" Moloch answered, caging me with his arms against my locker. "What if I cant stay away from you Abigail?" His face was now dangerously close to mine, his lips like magnets, begging for mine to join them. I blinked rapidly, trying to break myself out of the daze he had me in. The bell rang loudly, bringing me back to my senses. Only then did I see that everybody else was in the hallway with us. I hadn't realized that Moloch and I were no longer alone. "Excuse me" I begged, ducking underneath him and rushing to my first class. "See you in English Abigail!" I heard him yell after me. I managed to get to my Art lesson with seconds to spare. Jess was by our desk; already looking so much better than yesterday. "Where were you? I was waiting for you at our spot like I said I would?" She enquired. "Sorry, I got caught up. How are you feeling? You look lots better today." I whispered back, as our teacher started the class. "I feel much better too. What about you? How are you feeling? Have people been shitty with what happened yesterday between you and Melody? You wait until I see that little b***h!" "Noooo Jess! Honestly, It's fine. I just want to try and put it behind me now. So far things have been fine. No one has said a thing to me.. yet." "Abi, you're so much stronger than you give yourself credit. One of these days you're really gonna need to start sticking up for yourself! There's always going to be people out there that'll walk all over you otherwise. You're too nice for your own good!" Jess and I quietened down after we realized the whole class had went silent, waiting for us to finish our conversation. The last thing I needed was the teacher calling home again; this time for bad reasons. I didn't want my parents cancelling my birthday party to teach me a lesson. Most of the morning passed quickly. I was dreading lunch, not wanting to run in to either Moloch or Melody. It took twice as long for Jess and I to walk to the cafeteria, as she was wanting to stop and argue with anybody that was so much as sniggering about the video. We stood, waiting in line, talking about what we wanted to order, when Adam jumped up behind us, making us both scream. "Adam!" Screamed Jess, punching him in the arm. "What the hell did you do that for?" "Sorry! I couldn't resist it" He said, sending a gorgeous smile to the both of us. "I just wanted to say hello to Abi, and to you of course, Jess. I was wondering if I could join you ladies for lunch today?" "Of course you can!" Jess butted in before I could answer. "Is that alright with you too Abi?" He turned to me asking, c*****g his brow. "Yes Adam, of course it is" I said, smiling shyly. We all grabbed our food and sat together with Adam's friends joining us a few minutes later. It was so strange sitting with them all. Normally I felt invisible, but now here I was, sat with all the popular boys from the Football team. Jess however, was in her element, making everybody laugh with her jokes. We all laughed, having fun together, until Adam fell silent. Following his gaze, I watched as Moloch and Melody walked in together, arm in arm. Her lip gloss was smudged all over her face, some was even on him. He'd not even made it 24 hours and yet he was there, making out with another girl. Melody of all people. He was only just calling her a hoe this morning! As if he could feel my eyes on him, he turned to me with a full on smirk, blowing a kiss in my direction. I rolled my eyes straight at him, ignoring him completely and turning back to resume my conversation with Adam and Jess. Sorry Loch, today you'll be getting no satisfaction from seeing me upset. As soon as lunch was over and we were on our own again, Jess was trying to claw information from me. "What was that about?" She asked, pushing me into a quiet hallway. "I don't know what you mean?" I replied, picking at the fluff on my jumper trying to look disinterested as possible. I knew that Jess was on about Moloch, but I wasn't ready to tell her about what had been going on between us just yet. "You know exactly what I mean Abigail! Spill the beans! Now!" "It's nothing Jess, Moloch is just someone that I'm partnered with in English. We're not even friends." Jess' face paled, draining of all colour. "Moloch?" "Yes, Moloch. Anyway, I have to get going to class Jess.. I probably wont see you after school as I have to babysit tonight for the McAllistairs. I'll call you later." I yelled out, walking to my next class, leaving her standing there.
