|Chapter 1|

Morana’s POV The neon lights of Las Vegas blurred into a dizzy haze as I downed another shot, drinking my heartbreak away. I was drunker than I actually intended to be. Actually, the goal was never to get drunk but, to forget about the ache in my chest that consumed my entire being. Being broken up with was the worst. Especially the day right before their birthday. I'd already bought all his gifts and It was too late to take them back. But, leave it up to my younger sister, Fiorella, to cause a fit and have them fully refund the money. It was not only a habit, but a superpower of hers. That's how she was able to finesse any man and get whatever she wanted. I looked around the crowded bar and to my surprise, my friends had disappeared out of thin air. Where'd they go? Hell if I know. I downed another shot, the alcohol burning the back of my throat as it went down. The sensation was...pleasurable. I leaned against the counter, my vision slightly blurred, as I scanned the room again. The room was spinnng as I stood to my feet, stumbling away from the bar. The music that filled the club pulsed around me with a hypnotic beat that matched the rapid beat of my heart. In a haze of confusion and intoxication, a shadowy figure caught my eye from across the room. Tall, dark, and undeniably dangerous. He seemed out of place in the sea of revelers. But then again, so did I. The room started to spin faster and the faster it spun, the more lightheaded I felt. I was gonna pass out any minute and just before everything went dark, the mysterious figured appeared again, closer this time. Vincenzo’s POV I sighed, annoyed at the inconvenience, but stepped forward to catch the drunken girl before she hit the floor. My business deal had fallen through, and now I was ending my night taking care of an overly intoxicated girl. Just perfect. I effortlessly hoisted her over my shoulder and carried her out of the club. This wasn't something I did every day, but I had no tolerance for mistreating women. Especially after everything my sister had been through last time... My estate was a 10 minute drive from here. I'd just take her home with me, I guess. 10 minutes later- I settled her into a guest room, shutting the door behind me and flicking off the lights before I departed. This was my good deed for the month. My younger sister, Rosa, had been on my ass about me performing a good deed, as if I needed one to secure my place in hell. But deep down, I knew that's exactly where I was headed. ____________________________________________________________ Hey guys! First chapter of the book! What do we think so far?
