Indulgence

Halos hindi magkamayaw ang lahat sa pagdating ni Mr. Gustavo at anak nito. Nag-aalala at natataranta lahat ng empleyado dahil nagkaroon ng problema ang system nila. Huli na kasi ng malaman nila na may nakapasok pala sa system nila at hindi na nila nasaktuhan ang salarin.

“What is this mess all about?” Mr. Gustavo asked his secretary the moment they stepped inside the executive office and settled in.

“Sir, there’s been a problem in the system but we are doing everything to secure, upgrade and heightened the security of the system, Boss.” His secretary explained.

“What do you mean? There’s a glitch in the system?” Gustavo’s daughter interjected and the secretary gulped.

“Actually, there is no glitch, ma’am. Someone had been to our system,” the secretary answered and he bow his head down as a sign of asking forgiveness for his failure.

“What do you mean had been? Be more specific!” the daughter yelled and the secretary flinched when the daughter raised her voice.

“Someone was in our system earlier and we couldn’t catch who it was. It was too late to ping and hold the hacker.” The secretary explains as much as he can and hopeful his superiors won’t get mad at him for failing them for the first time.

“Is it a spy or an agent?” Mr. Gustavo asked his secretary and he immediately shake his head.

“A spy, sir. We found out that it’s an inside job. The laptop was found on the trash can near the control room. It’s the laptop that culprit used to hack into our system. The person is working here who has access in the control room, Boss.” He answered and the Boss got mad because of it.

“Then what are you still doing here? Go on and find that culprit! Sweep every rooms and investigate all the personnel. Now!” the Boss yelled at him and the latter immediately went out to do what he was asked for.

On the other hand, Lorie finally arrived at the coffee shop. She saw her twin from outside being busy with work and serving the customers. She didn’t saw any irritation in her twin sister’s face or expression. She was attending the customers very well. Unlike her, she doesn’t have that kind of patience. One of the good trait her sister has is being patient towards everything. She always say and see things in a good perspectives, a good listener too.

Rovie waved her hand the moment she saw her standing outside. She waved back and then smiled to see how happy her sister is.

“Anata wa koko ni imasu!” (You’re here!) her twin happily exclaimed when she’s finally inside the shop. “Tsukaremashita ka? Onaka H asu kimashita ka?” (Are you tired? Are you hungry?)

Lorie laughed with her sister’s questions. It’s pretty obvious that she cares so much for her. She’s always like that, panicking and all. Lorie pinched her twin’s nose and she shook her head in amusement.

“I’m fine, Rovie.” She just said to stop her twin from worrying and then pinched her cheeks as well.

“You’re done with your errands for today?” Rovie asked again and she nodded.

“Yes. Done for today.” Lorie answered and sat on the vacant chair.

“What do you want for dinner later, sissy?” Rovie keeps on asking her and she chuckled with her sister’s silliness. Rovie also sat beside her which made he laughed hard. She knows her twin won’t let her go until she answer her.

“I don’t know. What can you suggest, sis?” Lorie asked back and she had an idea that her sister already has something in her mind.

“Let’s get teriyaki tonight?” Rovie having a cheeky smile saying that and her eyes twinkle in excitement. She’s really excited and Lorie knows it’s her favorite food.

“Okay, sis. How about we get sushi as well and milk teas?” Lorie added up to her sister’s cravings.

“That would be amazing sis!” Rovie exclaimed and she claps her hand in excitement. She haven’t had those type of food for ages. She badly wants to eat them again. “Alright, sissy! I’ll go to work now so I can shift out early and we can get that food then go home.” Her twin bubbly added and left her at the table to continue working.

Lorie was smiling on her own because of her sister. One of the reason why she treasure and protect her sister so much, it’s because she’s the only one who can make her feel at ease, safe and comfortable. Only her sister can make her a better person.

She’s only observing and looking at her sister doing her work, when a stray kid came to her and handed her a piece of folded paper. Her brows arched in suspicions.

“Pinapabigay po nung isang babae.” The boy said while still holding the paper.

Lorie took the paper and read what was written inside. Her eyebrows almost collided because of what she read that says…

Secrets can be hidden along with the dead but not to those who is still alive.

Lorie crumpled the paper and looked at the boy. She already had a hint who wrote the letter but she wanted to make sure of it.

“Dalhin mo ako sa babaeng sinasabi mo,” she ordered the boy and he nodded then leave first before her.

She followed the boy and they reached the back area of the shop and there’s a van already parking there. The boy tap the lady’s back giving her sign that they are already there.

“Salamat, Toy.” The lady thank the boy and pat his head. She then gave him a one hundred peso bill and the boy run away after getting the money.

The lady turned around to face her and Lorie confirmed it. She is the lady she saved before in danger.

“We meet again.” She said with a very plastic smile.

“What do you want?” Lorie coldly asked the lady with no emotions in her face.

“Well, I came here to see you again and I want to hire you as one of my bodyguard,” the lady answered with a smirk. Lorie was going to answer and turned her down but she was interrupted by the lady.

“Before you turn me down and say something, I just want to let you know that there’s someone inside that coffee shop who’s going to kill your sister,” she was pointing at the coffee shop. “So, you better think it properly,” she continued and laughed evilly.

Lorie’s hand turn into fist because of what the lady said and she can feel the raging anger inside of her.

“Don’t you dare hurt my sister,” Lorie warned them in gritted teeth. “I don’t want to get involve with the likes of you. Who knows what you do for living. I don’t want to get in trouble.” Lorie added.

The lady laughed with what she said and answered her remarks. “Oh dear, that’s too bad for you. You’re already involve either you like it or not, because the moment you indulge yourself in someone’s business, you’re already part of it,” she smirked cutting off her words.

Lorie didn’t say anything yet and waited for the lady to continue. “I can use someone like you in my team. I saw how you fight those men and I know you can protect me. Also, my enemy is also hunting you for killing their men. Either way, you’re still in danger.” She continued and the lady became serious after saying that.

Lorie is still persistent and will say no when she heard someone talk in the lady’s walkie talkie. “Target locked, Boss. Waiting for your go signal.” The man in the speaker said.

Lorie felt scared all of the sudden and all she think about is her sister safety. The lady looked at her again, mocking and teasing her. She exhaled a sigh then nodded her head later on. The lady smiled and talked to the man in speaker.

“It’s alright. Let’s wrap up now.” She said to her goon and she smiled at Lorie.

Lorie doesn’t care about anything anymore but her sister. For her, she will do verything just to keep her safe and alive.

“I will see you soon, Lorie. Prepare yourself.” She said and went inside the van. “Until next time, dear.” And she blow a flying kiss to her. Lorie just ignored her and she just watched them leave.

The moment they are out of her sight, Lorie immediately went back to the shop to check on her sister. When she saw she’s fine she went to her and hugged her tightly that she never have done before. She’s scared and worried for her, always.

Her twin must’ve been confused by how she’s acting right now but she doesn’t care. She just want to hug her as tight as she can.

I will protect you, whatever it takes, Rovie. Lorie uttered in her head and she hugged her twin even tighter.
