Chapter 1 Escaping Death   Tokyo, Japan   “Zen ie o sagashi te kudasai futago o korosu!” (Search the whole house and kill the twins!)   Lorie and Rovie tried their best to hide from these Japanese men who are trying to assassinate them. They don't know where their parents are now. They were both left alone in their house and hiding in the dark corner. They were trying their best not to make a single tiny noise.   “Le no nakaniha dare mo imasen. Watashitachiha itarutokoro de kensaku shite imasu.” (There is no one in the house. We have searched everywhere.)   “Baka! Watashi tachi wa karera o nigeru koto wa deki masen!” (Idiots! We can't let them escape!)   They heard a rummaging sound inside the house which made Rovie and Lorie flinched from time to time. Most especially when the sound was near them. They tried their best to hide in the dark corner where their enemies can't be able to see them.   Lorie firmly gripped her twin sister’s hand, reassuring her that they will be safe.   After a while, the rummaging sound stopped, and the sound of footsteps going out from their house. So, Lorie decided to take a peek if their enemy were gone.   Slowly, Lorie get out from their spot, but she was stopped by her twin by holding her hand.   “Where are you going?” Rovie asked her in a low tone voice. Lorie signaled her to shut up.   “I'll be right back. I just need to check if they are gone. Just stay here and I will be back, okay?” Lorie assured her sister and Rovie didn't hold her back and let her go.   Lorie sneakily went to the living room trying not to make any sound, and she peeked through the curtain and saw more than twenty men standing outside their house.   Lorie gritted her teeth and looked for a possible escape route but failed because it's already dark outside and was wondering where their parents are right now. Are they fine? Are they doing well? Lorie doesn't want to think bad, so she shook her head to eliminate that thought.   Lorie silently went to their parent’s room and look for something that they can use.   She was busy looking for something when she remembers what her mother told her.   ~~ “Lorie, I need to tell you something. And I want you to remember it. There’s a vault under our bed. To open it, you need to answer the riddle correctly. The vault has everything you need if ever. Now, I want you to listen to me carefully Lorie, and remember everything I will tell you. No matter what happens, you will always stick with your twin sister. If mom and dad couldn't make it home until midnight, on 19th of July, you will leave this country, do you understand Lorie? You need to do your best to stay alive. Do you understand?” ~~   That day, Lorie couldn't understand what their mother was trying to point out. Now, she can perfectly understand what she meant. So, she hurry moved the bed without making any sound and walk near the wall and she can see ten assorted colored bricks.   The color of the sky is as beautiful as the color of the sea, but don't get fooled with what the naked eye can see. Look deeper as the riddle can it be.   Lorie was lost in words as she read the riddle out loud in her head.   What the hell?! What kind of riddle is this?! Lorie hissed on her mind.   She was having a hard time analyzing the riddle when she heard footsteps. So she immediately hide herself and was about to strangle the person when she saw that it was her twin sister.   “What are you doing here Rovie?! I told you to wait for me there, didn't I?” she hissed suppressing her voice as she scolded her sister.   “I’m scared Lorie,” Rovie honestly said which made Lorie heaved a sigh.   “Fine,” she said and get back to what she was doing earlier.   Lorie decided to sit down on the floor as she analyse the riddle carefully. She needs to solve it as soon as possible so they can get out of there.   Rovie, on the other hand, just smiled as she saw how focused and serious her twin was.   Lorie was busy analysing the riddle when Rovie pressed the black coloured bricks causing everything to fade out.   “What did you do Rovie?! Why are you so careless?!” Lorie was scolding her twin sister when the vault pops out and it opens afterwards.   “See?” Rovie said with a sweet smile and Lorie couldn’t react with disbelief.   “How did you do that? How did you solve the riddle?” Lorie asked her twin. Still couldn't believe that she actually pressed the right answer.   Rovie smiled widely and point the riddle. “Look, the riddle talks about color. You can already tell it with the ten different colored bricks. There’s also a hint actually.” Rovie smiled again as she continued.   “At first read you can tell that the riddle talks about any shade of blue by using the sky and sea, but when you analyze it deeper and look through it deeper it gives another meaning. It is said that don't get fooled with what the naked eye can see. Like the surface of the see, you can see its color as blue but when you look down and look deeper it was all black. And also, the writing paint was colored black. It’s not that deep actually and I thank you!” Rovie explained and Lorie left with awe.   “Alright genius. Now, let's get down to business,” Lorie said and she rummage the vault. She pulled out a black medium sports bag and an envelop.   “What’s that?” Rovie curiously asked her twin.   Lorie immediately open the bag and they were both shocked upon seeing what’s inside the bag.   Different kinds of guns and ammos. Two sets of knives and two swords.   “Wow!” was Rovie all can say as she saw the weapons.   Then Lorie open the envelope next and they were shocked once again when they saw what’s inside of it.   It’s a ten bundle of different money. Pounds, Dollars, Euros, and many more.   “Wow Lorie! We are super rich now!” Rovie happily exclaimed as she look at the money.   “Get yourself a small back pack enough to carry these weapons and ammos. Faster, Rovie, we don't have much time to spend,” Lorie order her sister which she immediately did.   Lorie pulled out the bundles of money as well as the passports, credit cards, their credentials, and the letter from their parents.   At this moment, Lorie doesn’t want to think of any bad thing. But there's a possibility that their parents were in danger. And she must keep her promise.   After packing up they silently sneak thru the back door, through their backyard, and were about to get away when someone yelled from afar.   “Soko ni iru!” (There they are!)   Lorie screamed at her sister.   “Run, Rovie!” they both started to run faster away from their enemies. They were trying to get away. They run as fast as they could to escape and get away from them.   Until they heard a roaring sound of an engine. They ran faster and faster. They are already lost of breath and already panting but they can't just stop now. Never.   We need to escape. Lord Help us. Lorie subconsciously prayed and looks like God answered her silent prayer because they saw a car stopped nearby and the owner went to the store to buy something she guessed.   Lorie gripped Rovie’s hand tightly and they both run faster to the car and get inside of it without any hesitations.   I'm sorry for stealing your car but we badly need it this time.   And Lorie drove the car away from that place. Losing their enemies.   “Where do we go now, Lorie?” Rovie asked her while still catching her breath like her.   “Airport,” Lorie absent-minded answered.   “What?! Are you serious?! Did you forget that we are carrying weapons? How can we get through the airport with this?” Rovie unbelievably asked her twin.   Lorie gets back to her senses with what her sister said.   “I'm sorry. We will go to the port. Let's talk to some pirates to help us get out of this country,” Lorie answered as she gets back to her senses.   “How is that possible?” Rovie asked again.   “We will negotiate with them. We have money remember? So try to relax and leave the rest to me, okay? Mum and dad have taught me the ways.”   This is what Lorie hates the most. Making her sister feel so scared. She doesn't like it.   “Do you have a place in mind already? Do you know where we should go?”   Lorie nodded her head and gave Rovie a reassuring smile.   “Where to?” Rovie asked for the last time.   “We are going to the Philippines.” And with that Rovie didn't ask anymore questions.   They were both silent until they reached the port and started to negotiate with some pirates.   The negotiation went well and now they are boarding as they will about to sail thirty minutes from now. Rovie and Lorie stick together as their journey begins.   Philippines, here we come.
