Joyce's arrogant demeanor made my anger finally boil over.
I shouted at her, "Joyce, you shameless woman, who knows how many men you've been with!"
"You betrayed me, and you still expect me to serve you and provide food for you?"
"Open your eyes—once you broke our marriage vows, you were no longer my wife!"
"Yesterday, you led the charge to drive me away, so your survival is no longer my concern."
"If you want food, go catch fish and pick coconuts yourself. I won't give you a single bite!"
Joyce was dumbfounded.
She never expected that I, who had always been "obedient," would defy her orders.
In a panic, Joyce ran over, "Jaxon, don't give me that God and vows crap! Under federal law, we're still married! You must take care of me. You can't just watch me starve to death!"
She blocked my path. "Even though I made some mistakes, I'm your wife after all. For the sake of our love, you can't abandon me when times are hardest!"
I sneered and raised my hand, slapping Joyce across the face.
With a loud smack, half of Joyce's face swelled up, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
Joyce looked at me in disbelief, stumbling backward several steps before falling onto the beach.
The other girls were all shocked.
Even Julia, nestled in my arms, was startled.
I said coldly, "Joyce, are you awake from your delusions now?"
"I'm warning you, don't mention marriage and love in front of me—it only makes me sick!
"The greatest mercy I've shown you is not killing you... Julia, come with me. I'll take good care of you!"
Julia snapped back to reality and quickly followed me.
Behind me, I could hear Joyce crying.
I looked back to see that foolish woman rolling on the ground, crying bitterly.
Julia walked beside me, constantly glancing at me as if seeing me in a new light.
I grinned at Julia, "What? surprised I hit her?"
Julia quickly replied, "She deserved it! That stupid woman needed to be hit! I support you!"
I grunted in acknowledgment and kept walking.
Julia asked, "Jaxon, where are we going?"
I pointed to the jungle ahead, "Though there are coconut trees on the beach, to survive we need to find more types of food. Most importantly, we must find fresh water. Otherwise, our skin health will suffer."
Julia looked at the dense tropical forest, showing fear, "Are there snakes?"
I nodded, "Of course there are snakes!"
Julia turned pale with fright and frantically shook her head, afraid to go forward.
I picked up two tree branches and handed one to her.
"Don't worry, snakes are actually very timid and won't attack unless provoked," I said while gently tapping the grass with the branch. "If you tap the grass with a branch, snakes, lizards, and other reptiles will get scared and run away."
"We should find a water source first, and then find a safe shelter—these were very important for us, and it's worth taking some risks."
Julia was still scared. "Why do we need to find another shelter? Why not just stay on the beach? If rescue teams come, they can spot us right away."
I smiled bitterly. "Julia, what if those girls get extremely hungry? Do you think they might try to steal our food? Or what if Joyce waits until we're asleep and hits us with rocks? We need to find a safe place to rest, store supplies, and later maintain a fire."
Although Julia was still somewhat afraid, she knew I was right.
So, I took the lead with my stick, while Julia followed behind, carrying an empty coconut shell to collect water.
Unfortunately, after walking half a mile with difficulty, we failed to find any water source.
However, we found some thumb-sized berries growing on short trees. Julia picked the bright red berries and put them in the coconut shell.
After walking another half mile, we finally found a small cave.
The cave was about 300 square feet, enough to accommodate five or six people and plenty of supplies.
Though not spacious, the cave had one advantage: its entrance was narrow, with a hard rock threshold that could help keep out rainwater and crawling creatures.
I told Julia, "Stay here and tidy up a bit, gather some branches and leaves, and also find some dry branches for firewood."
I was about to leave with my stick. "The trees here are very lush, which means there must be a water source nearby. I'll go look for it. You..."
Before I could finish speaking, I suddenly noticed someone outside the cave.
Upon closer inspection, I remembered she was Jasmine, the tall, beautiful woman.
When the girls drove me away, Jasmine stayed in the back without saying anything, so I didn't have a strong impression of her.
I cautiously asked Jasmine, "Do you need something?"
Jasmine looked at me with a pale face, her lips trembling, unable to speak for a while.
I said impatiently, "Just say it! If not, I need to go find water!"
Jasmine looked anxious and whispered, "Wait," then started unbuttoning her shirt.
Jasmine had large breasts that stretched her shirt tight.
As soon as she unbuttoned it, her impressive chest sprang out.
Her breasts were large, wrapped in a white bra that created deep cleavage.
Jasmine cupped her breasts and reached behind to unhook her bra.
The lace-trimmed bra came loose and fell to the ground.
Jasmine covered her breasts with her arms, her upper body now bare.
Her skin was flawless, and her figure was stunning.
Unlike the younger girls, Jasmine was a mature woman in her late twenties, exuding a feminine allure that could drive men crazy.
With her upper body exposed, she stepped closer to me timidly.
I frowned and asked, "What are you doing?"
She looked at me with pleading eyes and said, "Please give me some food. In return, I can sleep with you..."
