ADINNA’S POV The days after the Solstice Ball feel really strange and I can’t explain it. There’s something humming under my skin like a faint, restless current that won’t stop moving. My body doesn’t feel like it’s mine anymore. It’s alive in a way that makes no sense. The air around the academy feels different too, though maybe that’s just me. Everyone else seems perfectly normal. The students gossip about new training routines, who failed their combat assessment, or what teacher might be getting replaced next semester.
