ADINNA’S POV The rest of the night is too quiet. The kind of quiet that doesn’t soothe, but instead suffocates. My dorm feels smaller, like the walls are pressing in, and no matter how many times I turn my pillow or pace the floor, I can’t shut my mind up. Hunter’s voice keeps replaying in my head. Don’t punish us. I can still feel his presence at my door, his scent clinging to the air long after he left. My wolf had stirred then, pacing inside me like she wanted to rip the door back open and go to him. I hate that I felt that pull. I hate that part of me wanted to go back to him.
