Noah: "Hey, Adeline! Glad to hear from you. I can invite you for a chat tomorrow at 10 a.m. I'm sending you our work regulations ;)) *photo*" Addie devoured the text in the photo with her eyes. 1 Hair must always be loose. 2 The dress code is imposed by us. 3 You mustn't be even one minute late. 4 We treat employees with respect, but an employee must always obey her master's instructions. 5 You cannot refuse your master. 6 The work is in shifts. 7 We do not provide accommodation for employees. 8 Job duties include the following activities: Kitchen cleaning, living room cleaning, hallway cleaning, bedrooms cleaning, Cleaning the bathroom, tidying up the garden, preparing small meals, putting away laundry, ironing clothes, looking after children on the estate, looking after animals on the estate, shopping, individual problem-solving for people in the estate. 9 If an employee wants to earn more, she can provide s****l services. Adeline grimaced at point nine. After the eighth, she realized that she would not be just a cleaner, but a full-time housewife. 10 The people in the estate whose commands are the most important and dominant are: Augustus Vanderlyn, Alaric Vanderlyn, Lucian Vanderlyn. We ask that you treat their wives and other members of the estate with the utmost respect. 11 You are not allowed to raise your voice to anyone on the property, nor to animals. 12 When greeting someone, you should bow your head. Adeline read on and on, and all 30 rules seemed very strange to her. However, she thought that she really needed the money. $100 an hour is something many people could only dream of. She thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Maybe the family would be nice. Adeline: ,,Okay.. let's meet tomorrow at 10 am" She replied quickly, then jumped into bed and tried to sleep. However, she could not tame all the thoughts in her head. She concluded from the entire regulations that they didn't care about an employee being educated. What mattered was that she looked good. Addie was a pretty, slim blonde. She knew she was a bit malnourished because of the poverty she lived in. Her breasts had visibly decreased in size, but they still hadn't dropped below cup D. She stood up and went to the mirror, looking at herself carefully for the first time in years. Long blond hair, reaching down past her butt. Addie hadn't had time to consider cutting it before. It just kept growing. She had large green eyes, with visible shadows underneath when she wasn't wearing makeup. She looked at her face in silence, examining each element. She had perfect skin despite her poor lifestyle. "Ada, what's up?" She quickly pulled herself away from the mirror when she heard her best friend's voice behind her. ,,Nothing.. nothing, I'm just looking around" She giggled awkwardly, her face turning slightly red. "Hmm... there's something you're not telling me, is there?" Ivy looked her up and down, seeing the girl's reaction. ,,No... it's nothing. Let's go to sleep." Ada relaxed and stretched pretending. ... It was 8 a.m., and Adeline had quietly slipped out of the house. Ivy was still sleeping; she had the day off. Normally Addie would have been at her miserable job since 6, but she didn't go there today, determined to make her meeting go as well as possible so she could finally get out of there. As a food delivery girl, she earned peanuts. Literally, she was making 56 cents an hour. Working 12 hours a day, every day of the month. Ivy was right that it couldn't be called work. She was very lucky when customers left a small tip, because it was not obligatory. Addie laughed ironically at the thought. She didn't even make a dollar an hour. Wasn't that funny? Since she had no legal contract, she could never do anything about it or demand more. Her boss spread his hands and said that he was saving uneducated people. That's a lot of money for a homeless person. And so he preyed on the employees. Only desperate people came to him, and Addie wasn't the only one. ,,I will never allow myself to be exploited like this again." She repeated to herself as she boarded the bus to the estate. Noah texted her the exact address this morning. She paid $3 for the ticket. She figured it was worth the few hours of her work. Old job. She always thought like that when she bought something. Almost everything went to renting rooms, of course the cheapest ones with the worst conditions. Adeline has already rented 4 rooms during these 2 years. She was homeless most of the time anyway. She washed herself in public bathrooms, with a terrible level of cleanliness... she ended up using her phone in cafes, sleeping in shelters or on benches. Summer was the easiest. Adeline once found a blanket in the trash, in good condition, only a little torn... she spread it in a clearing on the outskirts of town and slept on it. The warm summer nights were pleasant. She didn't like sleeping in homeless shelters. There were a lot of old alcoholics there. People at rock bottom. There were plenty of people who had lost everything gambling. Lots of drug addicts. Even among the homeless, Adeline felt like an outcast.Older men often accosted her, seeing her as the only young woman in such a place. She often had to run away and defend herself to avoid being r***d. Adeline was already standing in front of the Vanderlyn's estate. The house, or rather palace, was really huge. Addie wouldn't call it a villa, It was too beautiful .. old fashioned, just wow. However, she was terrified at the thought of having to clean such a large house. And the garden? It seemed to her to be several square miles long. She walked up to the gate and with a trembling hand reached for the bell. Before she could press it, a male silhouette emerged from the garden. "Good morning, Mrs. Evans." The man smiled and offered her his hand through the gate. "Good morning, sir..." Ada bowed. "Come in, the interview will begin in a moment. Please go straight down the corridor, last door on the left." The man smiled and then opened the gate for her. It wasn't Noah, the guy looked to be in his 40s. He had the same blue eyes as him, and messy blond hair. His gaze and facial features were much more serious. He could be his father. Adeline walked down the long hallway, shaking with nerves. Just because Noah was so willing to take her in didn't mean his family would be the same. She opened the door, looked inside, and saw an elderly man sitting behind a desk. He was about 70 years old. "Good morning, sir." Addie bowed low. ,,Good morning, miss. Sit down." He pointed to the chair opposite him. The girl hurriedly sat on it. "So, are you interested in working for us... Miss Evans, if I may guess?" He looked at her carefully, pulling out the papers. "Yes. I'm very interested." She nodded. "Okay. Have you read the regulations my grandson sent you?" ,,Yes." "Do you agree to follow the rules?" He asked, adjusting his glasses on his nose. "Of course. Are there any other conditions?" She asked nervously, adjusting her skirt. "You can't terminate our contract so easily. The council must give its consent." He said, looking into her eyes. Adeline hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Okay, so let's sign the papers." He handed her a sheaf of documents. Addie carefully signed the last page. "Okay... you start tomorrow, be there at 6 a.m." The old man stamped the paper.
