Wayne watched the growing storm on the horizon from his boat. He was fishing alone, trying to get a few moments of quiet to himself. Carlos was frustrated with the Steve investigation and was difficult to be around. Donovan’s sudden resignation had sent him into an emotional tailspin. Wayne wondered why Donovan would give up his future in the United States to go live with some woman in a foreign country.
He chuckled to himself, remembering the stress of the job. Living far away from all this was certainly an attractive option. Wayne reeled in his line and threw out another cast.
