It was Friday night and the pack seemed to be buzzing with excitement over the banquet that is scheduled in one week. I was currently sat in my office alone. When I came in this office an hour ago it was to go over pack treaties that are coming up for renewal in the coming months, however, ten minutes in to reviewing them my mind drifted off to my mate. I had seen her only a few days ago, in my wolf form none-the-less, yet I haven’t been able to meet her in my human form and it was driving me nuts. My run in with her as Rune on Tuesday was a complete surprise but I know he and I were ecstatic to meet her.  I know she felt ridiculous talking to a wolf, I mean, if I were human I would probably feel the same way. However, I couldn’t even describe the happiness I felt when I realized she wasn’t scared of me. She didn’t run off like most women would. She seemed rather happy to have met a strange wolf in the neighborhood. This thought caused me to smile, however, my smile faded to a frown when I realized I had no plan of action for meeting her in person. I growled slightly at my frustration after a few moments, finally deciding to mind link Mason, Colin and my father to come to the study.  After about ten minutes I heard a soft knock then watched all three of them slowly file in. I opened my mouth to speak but stopped myself when I noticed a fourth person enter the room. Elliot, Mason’s son, came shuffling in behind Mason and as soon as the door closed I raised a questioning brow at them both.  “Alpha, my son Elliot wishes to share some information with you.” Mason spoke formally and I had to keep a frown and an irritated snarl at bay. The focus needed to be on my mate right now.  “Alpha, I had overheard my father speaking of your mate, I think I have met her at my school.” Elliot spoke up and I could hear the caution in his tone.  I chose not to speak as I leaned forward in my chair and clasped my hands together over the desk. I was intrigued but irritated and I felt I needed to address the irritation first.  “Firstly, Mason, is there a reason you have discussed my personal business without being in my presence?” I questioned Mason.  Mason held his head high but did not look me in the eyes when he responded.  “I apologize Alpha, I was speaking with my wife on the matter you had shared with me through the mind link, it was inappropriate of me to share it with her. I will take any punishment you deem fit.” Mason bowed his head after he spoke and I let out a sigh of frustration.  “I will not punish you for this as we have more important matters to discuss, however, in the future you will do well to remember this moment. My business is not to be shared around the pack like gossip, if you were doing it out of concern then you will address me with it. You do not hold the right to share my private business with anyone in the pack other than me. Is that clear?” I questioned in my Alpha command, wanting this to be done with now.  “It is perfectly clear Alpha.” Mason responded with no hesitation.  I nodded my head once and leaned back in my seat.  “Now then, you said you had some information to share with me.” I moved the conversation along as I addressed Elliot.  “Yes, Alpha, you shared her name with my father and I have just recently made friends with a newcomer in the town with that name. Her name is Violet Monti, we have been paired together to work on a Lycan project for our literature class. I have her phone number now, she gave it to me after class so we could meet up and work on the project tomorrow afternoon.” Elliot spoke quickly and efficiently, he would make a good warrior in the future.  “Tomorrow afternoon?” I questioned for clarification.  “Yes, Alpha, she said it would be best to meet in the afternoon, although I’m not sure where.” Elliot spoke up and I looked to my father. I was unsure as to where to go with this from here. I didn’t want to make Elliot force her to come here, there’s too many pack members that might not take kindly to a human walking this close to our houses.  “So, how will I meet her?” I questioned out loud.  “Well, I have an idea.” Elliot spoke up and I raised an eyebrow at him.  “Very well, what is your idea?” I questioned.  “Since we are supposed to work on this project, I had planned on texting her and asking if she would like to meet at the library, you could just meet us there?” Elliot questioned me and I silently thought about it.  I didn’t want to freak her out by showing up unannounced. But at the same time, this seemed to be the only effective way to get her to meet me in person.  “Text her now. Ask her to meet you at the library a few blocks away from Regina’s diner, let’s say around three in the afternoon.” I tried to keep the excitement out of my voice as I spoke to Elliot.  He nodded his head once then pulled his phone from his pocket and we all watched in silence as he did as he was told. Once the text was sent we waited a few more minutes and I tried to ignore the irritation building at the realization that she had his number saved at that she has no problem responding to him quickly.  “Alpha, she said three will work for her, that she has some errands to run in the morning but that she will have her mom drop her off at the library around that time.” Elliot spoke up, feeding me all the details he could get out of the one simple text and I resisted the urge to smile, knowing it would probably look creepy as hell.  “Good.”  “So as of now, the plan is that Elliot will keep in communication with her until tomorrow at three, I will be at the library around two thirty. The library is run by Helen Browns-wick, she has asked me before if I could help with a few things around the library for her, I will do that tomorrow before you two arrive. That specific library offers closed off rooms for a price, I will pay it, when you arrive go to the front desk and ask for which one is reserved under your name Elliot.”  When I was done speaking Elliot and Mason gave a nod of their heads and silently bid them goodbye. My head was beginning to hurt with all of this planning and frustration that has been building up and I shut the door, harder than necessary, behind them as they filed out of the office. The only one left in the room with me was my father.  “Son, maybe you should go for one more run, just to clear your head and prepare yourself for tomorrow. Keep in mind, she is human, you never know for sure what she will do or say, but don’t lose faith in the mate bond.” My father spoke to me with kind, loving eyes, and I knew was most likely just as excited as I was for this opportunity.  “I can’t. I need to finish looking over these treaties. I have to figure out which ones we need to schedule meetings with.” I replied as I referred to the other packs that wanted to renew their treaties with us. “Why don’t you allow me to help you look over those while you go for a run?” My father questioned, the smile never leaving his face.  “Oh come on, it’s been forever since I’ve been in the ruling seat. Allow me to help you Aiden.” My father chuckled at his own words and I couldn’t help but let out a shaky laugh, all of my nerves beginning to fry as I realized in less than twenty-four hours I would be meeting my mate for the very first time where I would be in a position to actually talk with her, not just listen to her talk to me.  “Fine. But please make sure we get the treaty situations handled, I can’t promise you that I will be back soon though.” I spoke up as I headed for the door leading out of the office.  “That’s all right, I think your old man can handle doing this old job for one more day while you go find peace or food or whatever it is you do on your lonesome runs.” My dad joked as he sat in my chair and shuffled the papers sitting on the desk.  I couldn’t help but chuckle back softly as I ran a hand through my hair and stepped out of the office. It was beginning to get dark out and I knew, if I wanted to be back in time to take over from my father before it got too late, I needed to only be gone no longer than an hour. Truthfully that wasn’t a long time but it would have to make do. Silently, I made it out in front of the pack house and shifted, not caring about my clothes, a few of the pack members shifted around me as well and together all of us took off into a run.
