four days later Libbys POV It was the last day of our 12 hour ER rotation and we still havent found our mate. Marie has insisted on rubbing our scent in a trail to and from our house so he can find us... this took time, a lot of time and I am exhausted from hours of running after working 12 hours a day. Next year when I get a different rotation, I will be going back to college. I am already a Registered nurse and am going to get my Nurse Practitioner license and will be able to open a wolves only doctor's office with two other NP's and a doctor who was a wolf. With the cops knowing about the supernatural world and most of them being wolves or other supernatural beings we protect the city and humans. Mum and Dad knew what Marie was doing, Dad was upset that I was allowing her to scent the trail, but after watching them together all these years... I prayed to the moon goddess that I would find him soon. That evening: Unknown POV I had been running in all the forests around Detroit because Thunder was just wild lately. He had scented a faint scent when we were running last weekend that made him sit up and pay attention. My name is Daniel and I am not looking for a mate... I just got our security firm off the ground, we are going to work on having specific teams for different need but will be concentrating on supernatural guard duties. Thunder raced through the woods when we both stopped. The scent of lilac and sandalwood filled my nose as a beautiful chocolate brown wolf stopped at a faucet set deep in the woods and pushed down on the handle to drink from the stream of water that came out. She stood, shaking her fur as Thunder whimpered softly. Hearing us, she spun and stopped, nose in the air a moment before she dropped to her play pose, tail wagging. "Her name is Marie..." Thunder whispered through our mind as he reciprocated the move, letting her come to us. she moved before us and stroked our muzzle with her cheek, giving us the scent in abundance before the dashed off into the forest. "What..?" I asked a moment before Thunder raced off after her. Four hours we chased her through the woods before we came to a decent sized house right on the edge of the woods. A shapely woman with waist length brown hair was pulling on a robe before turning to shake her hair out and brush it while we stood at the edge of the clearing. Spotting a pair of basketball shorts on the fence, Thunder snatched them up and we put them on after changing back. I cleared my throat and walked up to the most beautiful woman I had ever seen and held my hand out. "You already met Thunder, I am Daniel." I whispered in a soft voice, not wanting to scare the enchanting creature. She stood up shyly as an older woman came out of the house. "Libby..." she said before looking over at me and taking in my appearance and the leaves and pine needles in my hair. "Who are you!? David!" she shouted and a man came running. Leaping in front of them and shifting to his wolf so fast I missed the pulse of magic that went from head to toe. Landing in wolf form, he growled and I, irritated, took a step away from my mate as she ran forward. "Amos!," she shouted, grabbing his tail. "Mate!" she called out as the older woman excitedly began clapping, smiling and crying. Amos growled but his behind the pink garden shed... pink? He came back out with a blue robe, still growling. "She is too young for you..." he began before the girl, Libby, interrupted him. "Dad I am eighteen.. I am old enough." she firmly stated to his chagrin.
