Where is Daniel?

Libbys POV

The door recessed open and we slipped out beside the alpha, our eyes on him accusingly before Marie lifted her snout and sniffed, searching for Daniel and Thunder. I closed my eyes so that I wouldnt interfere with the scent or try to force her to go where she didnt want to.

Marie darted from the room, dashing down the steps as we dodged the pack members wandering around. She missed the last few steps and tumbled down the stairs with a soft yelp of pain. We followed his scent to the hospital, a large wide building and we ran into the door, sniffing as the doors slowly open for us.

As we rushed through the hospital we saw mates weeping over their fallen or sick mates. We found his scent, the beta was with him, waiting for him to awaken as we nosed open the door and whimpered. In my limited color range, we could see that he was pale with a wrapped bandage on his bicep.

We whimpered at the beta and he nodded to us as we jumped on the bed, nuzzling against him as he lay in a daze, his eyes rolled back, partially open, body completely relaxed. We lay beside him, head on his shoulder as the doctor came in. "Well... is this the new gamma female?" she asked as she shined a light in his eyes and checked his reflexes. "No need to worry, gamma, he will wake soon. He will be pleased you found him on your own, it shows mettle. Would you like a set of scrubs so you can change back?

At our nod, she left and a nurse returned with scrubs and we carried them to the bathroom and changed back. Once we were done, Daniel was waking up and groaned, looking at the beta. "Ugh... Nate... What hit me?" he growled as Nate laughed.

"Six two blonde haired bombshell vamp with an attitude problem. Dont worry, Tawny ripped her head off for you."

"No... Not Tawny... She will never let me live it down." He scrubbed his face with his hands and looked to the bathroom where I was standing dressed in pink scrubs.

His opened arms were all the invitation I needed as they continued talking, I hopped in the bed and held him close.

"She will go hard on you in training for letting a vamp get the better of you." Looking to me, he continued. "Tawny is my wife and mate and one of the harshest trainers in the pack." He explained as I stroked Daniel's bandage.

"Daniel!" Came a scream loud enough to shatter glass and pierce eardrums. An omega rushed in, slamming the door open to the beta's arched eyebrow. "There... who is SHE?!" the omega screeched pointing at me.

"Carrie, this is Libby, Daniel's moon given mate." Nate said, lowering his eyebrow and looking at the dark haired girl.

"Moon..." she gasped and stared at the two of us laying in the bed, my head on his shoulder, one hand on his abs the other under him as he held me to him. "Moon... given?" she stammered and her eyes filled with tears as she turned and ran away.

Nate scoffed. "Well, that would be one way of getting rid of a jealous she wolf." he snorted as Daniel fidgeted uncomfortably.

"Mmm... Front runner for chosen mate next week?" I asked sourly as I sat up.

I was a new wolf here and still smelled like the forest and of rogue... Deep forest and freedom. The other wolves would know it was rare for a rogue to find a mate but the group we associated with was going through the final motions to become Detroit's third pack. A medical pack to care for the wounded supernaturals the city and help keep them from revealing themselves to the humans of the world.

This hospital wing was what we wanted for all the supernaturals in the city, the ability to get medical treatment whenever needed. I didnt realize I was answering the Betas questions about me and where I came from as I quietly sat up next to Daniel.

The doctor had come in and finally spoke to me in her soft soothing voice. "Are you a trained medical professional?" She asked.

"I am a Registered nurse and am working towards my Nurse Practitioner license." I said proudly as I looked down at my mate.

He grinned at me and shook his head. "Shouldnt have told Doctor Chambers that, love. Once we complete the mating process, she will put you to work."

The good doctor grinned and nodded before checking him out, removing the bandage and then the stitches from his healed arm. "Make sure Tawny trains you on how to dodge vampires, gamma." she teased him. "There are shorts in the drawer if you are ready to head out to check the others."

Daniel nodded and got up, butt ass naked and threw on a pair of shorts. I felt no jealousy to the doctor, her mark was clear on her neck, a beautiful wolf paw tattoo with a golden eye in the center. I wondered if my mark would be as beautiful as hers as my mate turned around and held his hand out to help me up.

"How many have we lost? How many wounded? How many captured?" he asked the beta as we all started to walk through the hall to the main pack house.
