¨Laying on the bed, watching her move across the room gracefully never seeming to touch the floor as I followed her
with my eyes. Love radiated through me as my heart seemed to grew in the last hour, of finally making love to this
wonderful creature.
How have I dreamed of the day that I would be able to touch her, to kiss her, or just be around her and hold her. My life
seemed full now, before always feeling like something was amiss that something just wasn't right. Now laying in her bed
listening to the shower run still feeling her lips as she kissed me, still seeing the blue shine through her ice white eyes as
she stared up at me, I felt our souls melt together.
Sitting up on the side of the bed a smile tugged to my lips, boy Peter was never going to believe this! Knowing that he
thought that I was crazy for looking for all this time, even though he never came out and said it. I just knew with the
looks that he would give me when speaking of her. Chuckling to myself remembering what he said to me one time
"Christopher she could turn you into an ice statue, then what am I supposed to do? Move to Antarctica to keep you
whole!" Shaking my head standing moving to the bathroom door, a shower sounded good right about now. Wonder if
she would mind, as a sheepish smile crossed my lips.
Looking around the room on the way to the bathroom, wonder if she would move into the mansion with me. This place
is depressing! It was a bomb shelter so the walls was nothing but cement as with the floor. The only things that was in
the room was her fabulous bed, a chair, her computer desk with a laptop and a book shelve that lined that back wall
with tons of books.
Reaching the door having my hand on the handle the shower stopped. Man, she's done furrowing my brows and
pouting a bit pushing open the door with steam rolling out hitting me in the face. It looked like a sauna in the bathroom
as I pushed open the door the rest way to spot her bent over with a blow dryer in her hand drying her hair.
Still dazed and motionless by her beauty staring like a moron. Resting my shoulder up against the door frame crossing
my arms in front of my chest, just watching her.
I could spend the rest of my life watching this woman. Watching her effortlessly move the dryer through her hair as she
swung her body up flipping her hair back as she turned and smiled at me with her luscious lips. Smiling back taking in
her curvy figure hidden by the towel she had wrapped around herself.
"You mind if I get a shower?" Smiling a coy smile at me.
"No, not at all. The towels are over there." She pointed to a standing shelf in the corner of the bathroom. The rest of
the place might be depressing, but her bathroom was great. Walking in the door to the right was a giant shower that
had a shower head that the water fell out like a water fall over your head. It felt magnificent.
Farther from the door was a sink that she was out still blow drying her hair, and across the room was an old giant rod
iron tub with claw feet.
The tile that surrounded the room came out next to the tub with shelves that held candles and shampoos and things.
The tile was black with hints of gray through it that made it look like a marble. Now this room wasn't at all depressing.
As I showered I heard her stop drying her hair and the door close to the bathroom. Lathering up my hair rubbing the
shampoo through leaning my head back to rinse the shampoo out. I heard her talking to someone in the next room.
Squinting my eyes stepping closer to the edge of the shower straining to hear who she was talking to the door slammed
open and Memphis came strolling in the bathroom stopping dead in front of the shower staring at me.
Looking down at the dog that was looking at me wondering what in the world he was doing, Veronica strolled in next to
him and turned to face me in the shower.
Turning the shower off I opened the door to the shower and looked at her then down at Memphis who was staring up
at me.
"Uh, what's with the dog staring at me like that?" I asked her as she stood in front of me with her hands on her hips.
She looked back down at the dog before glancing back at me "Well he has to get to know you. If he don't get to know
you he will kill you if I am not around and I thought the more time that you two spend together, the better your chances
will be." Smiling she reached in and kissed me on the cheek as she turned and walked back out of the bathroom.
Okay, thinking that this dog is going to kill me before we even have a chance, stepping out of the shower right next to
him he growled. Hesitating before bringing my other leg out "It's okay boy, I am not going to hurt you." I said through
shaky lips smiling down at him.
"He can smell your fear!" Veronica yelled from the other room. Yeah I know he can, but seriously how am I not
supposed to be afraid of a dog that weighs 80 pounds and looks like he is nothing but muscle and is a vampire dog!
Really who ever heard of a vampire dog and here I am standing next to one that does not like me.Closing my eyes I let out a breath and moved my other leg out of the shower now standing next to Memphis.
Glancing up at me I smiled down at him. "Nice doggy." I said as I moved over to the shelf that held the towels, him
moving on my heels the whole way. Grabbing a towel wrapping it around my waist moving toward the room. Memphis
still following me the whole way. Veronica turned and smiled at me as I entered the room
"See you two will be okay." Nodding moving to her putting my arm around her to give her a kiss, Memphis started to
growl a very low but pronounced growl at me. Stopping inches from her lips straightening my back as looking down at
him and he stopped. Smiling I tried again and he growled again at me. Furrowing my eyebrows, Veronica laughed
"He is very protective." She murmured. Yea ya think! Shaking my head moving away from her to get dressed back in
my clothes that was thrown all over the side of the bed.
Memphis and me are going to have to have a talk about this I thought as I pulled my jeans on.

**********************************************
Standing in front of the new window looking out over the yard, it has still been to long for Christopher out by himself.
Certain now that I had to go and look for him.
"Nathaniel, Marcus." Not haven to speak very loud I know that they heard me talking even if they was on the other
side of the house. Waiting for them to make their way to me, as resting in the chair opposite Christopher's desk.
"Peter did you need us?" Marcus said as he walked into the room.
"Yes we have to go searching for the King, and please don't mention this to the coven. I don't want them upset" with
my anxiety getting the better of me. I rose out of the chair I was resting in to face the two men.
Turning to look each one of them in the eye.
The both nodded in agreement.
Moving over to the two, we were ready to go and nothing was going to stop me from finding Christopher, dead or not. It
was my responsibility to find out where he was.
Once we made it past the gates to the mansion and the prying ears of others Nathaniel stopped me.
"Sir why are you so anxious with the Kings whereabouts?" I could see the concern in Nathaniel's eyes as he eyed me
cautiously.
"He left just after nightfall to find Veronica and has been gone ever since, I have no way of contacting him and I am
worried that she may have hurt him or worse killed him."
Both Nathaniel and Marcus looked at me with anger in their eyes, "If she has hurt the King we will kill her this night."
Marcus said.
Still as the night we all looked at each other closely in the eye. Nodding to each in turn."Let's be quick and keep every
one of your senses open for any clues to where he has gone." I said as I blended into the shadows of the wall to an old
building that was just a mile from the mansion.
Jumping to the rooftops we merged with the shadows to keep clear from all viewing eyes and what ever else might be
out in the night watching.
Jumping to one roof to the next in the moonless night, there was just a slight breeze that flowed through the area.
Tasting the wind every few seconds for any scent of the King, before long we came across a scent that was not just a
regular animal, it wasn't a werewolf they had very distinct smells.
This smell was mixed with wild and vampire scents. It didn't smell as if it had a vampire with it,but had the blood of a
vampire in it.
Stopping on top of an old run down hotel sitting next to an open field. Marcus and Nathaniel were both at my side ready
for whatever emerged from the woods. We could hear the animal coming closer to the field.
Watching ready to pounce on whatever was wondering out in the night, when movement came from the North side of
the field.
Our eyes were glued to the spot the noises were coming from. Marcus let a slight hiss escape his lips, the noise
stopped. Annoyed looking over to Marcus he spared me a glance then focused back to the woods.
Growling came from the spot the noises were coming from. Holding up my hand, holding three fingers up to count down
on our attach on whatever this was.
Two fingers up, one finger up and we were in the middle of the field just outside the woods.
The growling intensified as we stared in the woods still not seeing were the growling was coming from. Then the eyes of
this creature stared back at us from behind a fallen tree. Nathaniel hissed back and fell into a defense crouch waiting
on the creature to emerge from the woods.
Looking at Nathaniel and Marcus they both was ready when a dog was on Nathaniel ripping and growling as he ripped
into Nathaniel's throat.
