Chapter 7

Today was the day! I screamed to myself as I got up from bed. I opened the curtains and peered outside. It was a lovely day. The sun shining bright, the birds singing happily. I could see the servants working like bees and talking to each other happily. I even caught sight of Grant but it didn't really matter, I was too excited to bother with him. I sang as I dressed up for breakfast and didn't bother calling Lisa for help. It was like I was walking on balls of joy as I walked out of the my room and down the halls. The effect of whatever I was feeling was magic. I didn't think it was love because I didn't know him. Was it desire or a love for a fairytale happy ending? I was confused myself. I walked into the dining hall smiling and glowing and I guessed my dad noticed too. I curtsied to my dad and nodded good morning Grant. My dad stopped talking to Grant and focused his attention on me and then said sternly; ‘’Where you last night?'' ‘’What do you mean?'' I asked seriously now, was this a joke or something? I never leave the house though yesterday night I couldn't remember what I was doing but maybe I fell asleep or something. ‘’You didn't come for dinner last night and I asked your handmaiden where you where and she told me you were sleeping. I didn't believe her so I grilled her with questions but she stuck to her story which we had no choice but to believe as she gave us some lady like reason to not go into your room'' By maiden, he meant Lisa and I was grateful to her for helping me so I decided to stick to her story. ‘’Dad, you're overreacting. You should start believing my maids more often, especially Lisa. I told her that I wanted no visitors as I was going through some lady issues and wanted to be alone.'' I said smiling at my dad ‘’Fine'' he said and then continued, ‘’how is your fist week going?'' he said glancing at me, then Grant. then back again. ‘’ Great dad!'' I said still smiling and Grant looked at me in shock and I gave him a look that told him to shut up.  I don't think I have ever smiled this long before, I thought to myself . My cheeks were getting exhausted and were starting to burn. After we finished breakfast, my dad and Grant went for a walk around the castle while I went to my room. Lisa was already there smoothening out my bed. ‘’Hi Lisa'' I said still smiling. ‘’Hey Ciara, did you sleep well?'' she asked  ‘’Yes, I did. Thank you'' I replied. Why was I still smiling? I thought. ‘’If you don't mind me asking…where did you sleep?'' I heard her hesitate a bit before she finished asking the question, ‘’What do you mean? Wasn't I here?'' I replied confused but after my reply she looked hurt ‘’But Ciara, I thought you'd tell me everything. And even if you can't tell me…you shouldn't lie'' She said looking away ‘’I'm not lying-'' I said honestly then continued ‘’I can't remember where I was last night. I was hoping you knew'' ‘’I don't know where you were Ciara, but hopefully we will find out and it doesn't happen again'' she said and then continued ‘’are you excited for tomorrow?'' she said that part smiling. I blushed at this and it lightened me up a bit though I was still deeply cocerned about the gap in my memories. ‘’Yes'' I said still blushing. ‘’Then let me get you ready to meet the man of your dreams'' she said, making me blush more as I sat down by my mirror and she started to smile more.
