Avery Simons, my press secretary and I just got back to the Kings County District Attorney office from the press conference at Brooklyn. The press gaggle, neighborhood activists and the public from the surrounding neighborhoods were demanding answers about the dead black girls who were popping up all over the city in the last few years, and law enforcement’s seemingly disinterested response to finding the perpetrator. The press conference, by in large was a success although you would have never predicted it by the way the internal meetings had gone a few nights ago.
