“Can I come in?” Archer asked warily as he stood outside Lana’s room.
She was already in her tank top and shorts but she moved aside, letting him in. She didn’t miss the way Archer’s eyes landed on the pills on her nightstand. Her next heat was coming up. It usually came after every three months, sometimes four. It was never at the exact same time, sometimes coming sooner or later. She’d learned to pick up on the signs so she could take her pills in time. She’d just been checking to make sure she still had enough pills to tide her over for her next heat.
