ZARA’S POV
“She might have been murdered,” Cael told me gently. I had lost my appetite and so, I dropped my spoon on the table. He looked at me with worry-filled eyes, “Maybe I shouldn’t have brought this up during dinner.”
“Aurora was…” I paused. “I can’t believe I have to address her like she is in the past.”
“That’s because she is,” he replied. “It is sad but she is gone.”
“Murdered,” I muttered. “That means someone aimed for her and they executed their plan. I need to find out who it is and when I do, they won’t escape the consequences.”
“I will make sure of that,” Cael told me confidently. “But we are the living, we must survive. You should pick up your spoon and have dinner.”
