“A trauma hospital isn’t supposed to be profitable. I don’t know how many times I am supposed to explain this to the board of directors. I know you’re running at a deficit but it is something that needs to be done,” the director of CK Trauma Hospital was saying. He had been summoned by the board of directors because the hospital made deficits instead of profit and I was sitting through all of these as the group’s chairman.
“But we need profit!” One of the directors exclaimed. “This is a business and the main reason for doing a business is for profit, for reward! If we wanted to do charity, we would invest into CK Foundation. Ladies and gentlemen, I propose that the trauma hospital be shut down.”
