ZARA’S POV
I watched Cael and Gerald speak from afar with my mind unsettled. I couldn’t hear what they were saying but the tension between them spread up to the place I was standing. If Charles shared the same feelings with me, I wouldn’t know because he was focused on putting our suitcases in the car.
“Aren’t you worried?” I asked him eventually.
“About what?” he replied casually.
“Gerald,” I told him. “The person Cael is with. That man has always made me uneasy.”
