ZARA’S POV The flames flared up violently and I backed off, my heart beating hard. The housekeeper rushed to turn off the gas and covered the pan with a wet cloth. She grabbed the fire extinguisher in case the fire would rage but it didn’t. All I heard was some hissing from the pan and it all ended. By now, Cael and a couple of the household staff had found their way into the kitchen and if any of them had questions about who was at fault, the housekeeper’s fiery glance at me would answer their questions. “Are you okay?” I asked her gently, hoping she wouldn’t shout in reply.
