Chapter 13.
Part 2.
Later that evening around the dinner table, the rest of the Parker Family were very intrigued of Pam's life story. Roger and Hilda were asking her the appropriate questions where she was comfortable in answering while Harry was interested having a look of excitement shown in his eyes while his features were calm.
"Wow, you have two dads? that's a lot." Pam giggled while Jacob gave him somewhat of a death glare to indicate for him to stop but the brunette didn't mind though; she saw that the little kindergartener was always wanting to find out more about the world around him by asking questions and wanting the full answers without having to skip or think of some creative lie. In a way, he was also cute too; even the way he was looking at her made her giggle a little more.
"Indeed that does sound like a lot huh? but I love them anyway no matter what, even if they embarrass me sometimes." Jake smirked knowing exactly where she was coming from. To this day, whenever Hilda would be the one to take him to school, she would always kiss him on the cheek before he would get a chance to come out of the car and that was saying something.
"Oh yes, I completely understand, besides, I have two right here that are prime examples." He winked over towards his relatives whom were trying to give out death glares but failed miserably that was replaced by full laughter. Once dinner was done, and the pie was cool enough, Hilda soon brought it over along with a bucket of vanilla ice cream courtesy of Roger.
"Mmm...this apple pie is really delicious. Thank you so much Mrs. Parker. You have got to give me the recipe sometime."
"Oh it's no problem at all dear, plus, I'll even throw in a couple of secrets too." She winked causing the teenaged girl to giggle again.
"So Pam, Jake has told us that you are the Chief Editor of the school newspaper, how does it feel to take on such a big job like that?" Roger asked while cutting a slice of pie and chewing. The attractive teen female's eyes crinkled with happiness.
"It is very exciting to be totally honest with you, as a matter of fact, I was the one that had given him one of the positions where once our photographers take the pictures, he will write the articles even. That's how we met each-other within the Newsroom from the past Friday.
Hilda gasped. "Jacob, you have never told us that part, had I known, I would've met her a lot sooner."
"Actully, "Jacob soon sweat-dropped, "I told Uncle Roger about her late last night while working on the article, I just didn't tell you because then you would start on the story again..." Pam grew confused.
"What story?" She asked sending the maternal Aunt into a story mode phase where both males were shaking their heads vigorously.
"Uh...so how did you like the dinner?" Roger quickly asked not wanting to hear his Wife's story again knowing just how much she liked to boast about herself at times but she was still humble and meant well too. Harry laughed while finishing up his ice cream seeing his Aunt sigh and roll her eyes while taking up the dessert bowls and dishes to the sink to get them cleaned up as she muttered the word men under her breath.
A little while later, both teens headed outside gazing at the starfilled sky. "Thanks for inviting me over for the day Jake, it was very nice and I like your family too, they're such awesome people." Jake chuckled and shook his head shrugging it off.
"Yeah, they're cool alright, I give them props for that even though they can be quite a handful at times, but just don't let them hear I told you that." They both laughed soon easing down to take in their surroundings.
"Hey, I resent that, my dads are five times more embarrassing than what you have." More laughter came flying through the air. Roger soon joined the pair wearing a light jacket as he offered to take the girl back home. Nodding, she thanked him for the ride as Jake soon promised her that he would have the article done by Wednesday no later than in the morning. Nodding and letting him know that it was okay for him to take his time and not to rush, she soon followed the Off-duty police officer as he watched them get into the family car but not without waving goodbye thus going back inside of the apartment.
"What a nice girl she is." Hilda replied as she had put the last dish away into the cupboard.
"Yep, she's cool, she can do almost anything. She paints, sews, and can even cook and bake whenever her parents are working late or out of town at times. I guess you can call her a Jack of all trades." They both laughed until the long haired boy noticed that his younger brother was absent. "Hey, where's Harry?"
"He's in his room drawing a picture, he said that the next time Pam comes over, he would like to give it to her. Seems to me that he is starting to have a little crush on her right now." Jake chuckled.
"Leave it to him to have a slight love interest in her. I'll have to let her know in case she expects a date from him." The Aunt and nephew pair both laughed as he soon hugged her and made his way towards his room to finish the article and his homework too.
