Chapter 2. Once bidding Harry goodbye to let him know to have a great first day, I soon found myself walking along the sidewalk with thoughts running through my head which allowed me to have a moment to myself to think about what would be set for the future that laid ahead. Due to my love of the English subject as well as any other form, my dream was and still is to one day become a Novelist writing any type of book that I could think of whether it was either fiction or non-fiction to say so the least. Since at a young age going all the way back to Elementary school, my favorite subject had always been literature to the point I was even on the Honor Roll for having the most exquisite essays, short stories, and book reports written in my very own words; there was never a B or C out of place from my perfect A+ Average. Seeing the school coming up to full view, I soon picked up the pace a bit seeing other teens from different direction coming from their own form of transportation necessary while some only walked either alone or with a group of their friends and peers. "Jacob!" I turned around once I heard the shout of my name and quickly grew a smile seeing none other than my good friend Melanie Wetterling running towards me as well as giving me a big hug in the process. Being great companions since the 1st grade, Mel had always been my confidant in anything I would do or try to do to the best of my ability. She had the type of aura around her that no one could ever break her down; not even the meanest bullies who would try to threaten her because they knew once she would fire back with one of her sassy one-liners, they knew that their ass was going to get many comebacks that they couldn't think of anything to say at the right given time and would just walk away instead mumbling and grumbling under their breaths. Growing up with a single mother, and being the middle child of an older brother and younger sister, she would help out as much as she could knowing that with her mom working late hours at the Bakery, she needed to step up to the plate and pull her weight around the house since Dante was in college, and Didi was in Kindergarten. She never complained though despite her dad whom had left them when she was just only 10 at the time; however, she really didn't talk about him much; only having angry thoughts about him leaving her mom to take control of the load. "So, anything new happened during Summer Vacation?" She asked as we walked through the hallways seeing balloons and streamers that decorated the high corners of the walls above our lockers as a homage of welcoming everyone back to Mission High. I only shrugged my shoulders while getting my locker combination to open it getting out the necessary supplies I needed to start. "Eh, nothing really, Uncle Roger had taken all of us camping in the woods in Seattle where he rented a cabin for us to stay in for a couple of weeks not to mention, he took me and Harry fishing too; you should've seen how he was so excited when he caught his very first one." Mel smiled, she had taken a good liking towards my little brother when he had just been born that she would always come over to our house to help out with either chores or errands to make the workload easy on us. In many ways, she became an instant part of the family to the point it was like she practically lived with us; she would have dinner, have sleepovers, and would come with us on our family vacations as well; she was basically like a sister towards me. Pretty soon, the rest of the students were gathered around the large bulletin board to see what classes they were going to be in or any other type of after school activities there were. After much pushing not to mention excusing ourselves where we would get our feet stepped on, Mel and I finally made it up front to see which class we were going to be in first to start the year off on the good foot. Grinning from ear to ear, we saw that we both had English together which was just what I was hoping and wishing for where we could sit in our same spot next to each-other like last year! "MAKE WAY SHRIMPS! COMING THROUGH!" The next thing we knew, we were all roughly pushed aside as I soon began to glare daggers at the familiar back that has made my life a living Hell since starting here: Bradley Holloway was the Captain of the Football Team as well as a major pain in my ass since becoming a Freshman on my First day. He had no problem of making people feel like s**t about themselves just to make himself look good; with his Dad being the Principle here and his Mom being the President of the PTA, he could do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted and could get away with it and you would be damned if you even spoke a word about him or else he would go to any one of his parents. "Well, if it isn't the little fag fairy. How many c***s have you sucked over the summer anyway?" I clenched my teeth as he along with the rest started to laugh; hey, it's not my fault that I'm gay, but damn it, he didn't have to rub it in just because I secretly like to look at cute guys whom I know wouldn't like me back due to the fact that they're straight while me on the other hand bat for the other team. "Shut up Brad, I thought you have grown past the stage of name-calling right about now, or could it be that you're so high strung about your football scholarship, that you forget about your English skills hmmm?" I smirked causing him to grit his teeth. "Why you little twink-" The bell rang just in time as some of the kids soon filed into the classroom. Luckily, Brad had Science and wouldn't be bothering me for the rest of the day. (Thank God). "I can't believe you had the balls to tell him off!" Mel snickered as we both high fived sitting in our seats next to each other. "Hey, when you have been bullied by him since Freshman Year, not to mention getting your head dunked in the toilets, you just learn how to push the right buttons." I winked causing the both of us to laugh. "Hey, do any of you know who's going to be the new English Teacher for this year?" One girl with light blonde hair asked another student with a mop of brown hair shrugged. "Probably going to be another senior, besides, we got Mr. Hines last year and Miss Wittenberg the year before that. The one thing in common that they did have was that it was so boring here." Many agreed; despite our past instructors being old, they were pretty stale when it came onto teaching us anything that had to do with the subject at hand. I just hoped and prayed that we wouldn't get another one like them this year. Soon, the door slowly opened as everyone including myself turned around to witness the newcomer. It had felt like time had stood still as he revealed himself: he looked to be between 6'0 to 6'3 tall standing like a Greek God who had came home after a long journey. Strawberry blonde hair was neatly combed and tied in a ponytail which made me believe that he too had long hair like mine as well as sparkling green eyes that twinkled like emeralds found within a lost cavern as he grew a sweet smile in return. He looked so handsome. Getting the piece of chalk, he soon wrote his name on the blackboard along with finally opening his mouth. "Good Morning Class, please allow me to introduce myself, my name is George Calloway and I will be your new English Teacher starting for this year and I do hope that I will work alongside with each and every one of you to the best of my ability and become great at what I do best as well as to get to know you all." Wow... even his accent was enough to send slight volts down my spine that made my toes tingle slightly. I think this is definitely going to be a great year after all.
