3. Dinner talks

"Oh wow, look at those muscles, I think I'm drooling! I can't wait till I bite him in that…" - Mattie started, but I felt like I was about to throw up in my mouth.

"Mattie, please! He's my baby brother. I know he's handsome, it kinda runs in the family. But please remember he's not 18 yet, heck he's still 16, so please don't go all Alistair on him on his first day here." - I pleaded.

I know how the bond works, it pulls you to that special someone and you practically can't live without him from the moment your eyes landed on him. I heard it's not that strong for white wolves, but Mattie being the horny b***h she is, will probably jump my brother's bone on the first occasion. That's something I shouldn't think about for the sake of my sanity.

"What do you mean 16?! So what is he doing here?" - she whispered with a clear shock in her voice.

"He was born in December, remember?" - I reminded her.

"Oh. That's alright, I don't mind." - she brushed my words away. f*****g nympho.

I have to give her that, my brother is turning all the heads on his way to our table, so she might have a valid reason to go all territorial. I know I would. But even though we look nothing alike, Freddy is my baby brother, and a good kid on top of that, his happiness is my priority even above my friendship with Mattie.

Freddy is like a younger version of my father, with his dark brown hair and olive skin, he just got his eyes after our Mom, warm chocolate brown, that makes him always look so reliable. But even though he looks so much like famous Anton Morgan, he is nothing like Dad. Where Dad is calculated and hot headed, Freddy is a nice boy next door. He is strong and all, but he definitely prefers diplomacy over the argument of strength, that's why some might think he's weak. I guess I'm just worried Mattie will chew him up and spit him out, and I will be forced to break her legs for it. That's what older sisters are for, right?

"Hey Guys, can we join you?" - asked Freddy when he and his surfer friend reached our table. Mattie was already jumping with excitement. I may need to knock her out today.

"Of course. Who's your friend?" - I said with a smile, trying to act casually and ignore the smell of arousal coming from Mattie. Dear Goddess, he literally said six words and she's already wet. This is f*****g disgusting!

"That's my new roommate, Maximilian Kelly, future Alpha of Silver Heart Pack, that's in Australia." - Freddy introduced the surfer Guy, he looked really excited to be here, which made his silver eyes sparkle with joy. He wasn't as muscular as Vigo or Freddy, as he was more on the leaner side, but I couldn't deny he was good looking.

"Please call me Max, and I'm glad to join the table with the most gorgeous she-wolves in the Academy." - he said, winking at me. Oh, so he's a charmer, but he looks harmless.

From my right side I heard a low threatening growl, and when I looked there I saw Rico targeting Max with his sight.

"Baby, stop with the jealousy. He's just being friendly." - Izzi started calming my Beta, he on the other hand wrapped his hand around her shoulders practically hiding her from all eyes. Men, right?

"OK" - said Freddy watching Rico with disapproval - "Let me introduce you to them all, the one growling is our future Beta Rico Moyez, and the girl under his shoulder is Isabel Lictorn, his Mate. Next we have Osprey Springer, future Alpha of Red Moon Pack, then my cousins Alpha Vigo Cargarough and his Beta Augustus Morgan from Surge Pack. And those two beautiful women over here are really special. That's Matilda Alistair of Dark Night Pack and my one and only big sister Valkyrie Morgan."

"Pleasure to meet you all, Mates." - he said in a bit of a singing voice, with a wide grin. He's positive, I like him, Freddy got a good one here.

Guys sat down and we started our usual small talk, getting to know Max. He was actually the first outsider to join our table, as we always shared it with only our childhood friends, but he seems to match us perfectly. He was so funny, almost everything that came from his mouth made me laugh. I knew just then that I wouldn't mind him around.

"So Mattie, no guy on your shoulder yet? From what Val said, that's unusual." - Freddy said with a smirk looking at my roomie. I think I will hear from her later regarding that comment.

"What?! No, she likes to exaggerate." - Mattie said glaring at me and I swear I saw a blush forming on her cheek. Oh. My. Goddess. Girl without an ounce of shame is actually embarrassed. I will enjoy this very much. I wish I had a popcorn with me now.

"Exaggerate?! Pff, please Mattie, this time last year you were already impaled on some poor warrior from Sunset Shadow." - Ossy snorted and we all burst into laughter making Mattie lobster red.

I watched closely my brother's reaction and he wasn't having as much fun as the rest of us, but he was watching Matilda with concern or disappointment maybe.

"Now, now Ossy, I'm sure Mattie can say a lot of embarrassing s**t about you too. Do you really want to start all that kiss and tell escaped?" - Izabel came to her rescue and Mattie seems grateful for that. Ah Izzi, she's always the most mature out of all of us.

"You Guys look very close." - Max pointed out with a smirk under his nose.

"We're either family or allies." - I said.

"Or both." - added Vigo.

"That's so cool. It's good that I ran into you all."

"Yup, you're in good hands." - I smiled warmly at new Alpha, and suddenly a way to help out Mattie in her misery came into my mind - "Actually we have something special planned for the evening. We normally don't invite outsiders, but since you are my brother's roommate, you are practically one of us now. So both of you meet us by the clock tower at 10. And Freddy, take the bottles I put into your bag." - I said the last part looking at my brother.

"You put something in my bag?" - he asked cluelessly and I nodded with an impish grin. - "Grow up, Val."

"What?! Mom could go through my stuff, and she would never do that with her Golden Boy."

"There's a reason for that." - he mumbled.

"Hey! Don't talk back to me, or I will withdraw my invitation." - I yelled, sending him a warning glare.

"Then you'll be short on booze." - he answered with a smug smirk.

"Geez, would you please stop that!" - Vigo broke our siblingly quarrel - "When I look at you two I'm glad Virgi won't be studying here with me."

"Oh right, how's our dear Cousin anyway?" - Freddy asked - "Did she manifest her powers already?"

"Powers?! What powers?" - asked Max.

"Oh right, we have few white wolves here. Mattie is one, Vigo is another and his sister Virginia is one too, but we have yet to find out what she can do. Gus however he isn't one, has the gene, so if he will have pups they can be ones as well." - Freddy explained.

" Wow, so you are all very special. What is it that you can do?" - Max asked, looking at Mattie then at Vigo looking all excited.

"I can temper with time, but I'm not the best with it yet. So far I managed to stop it for a few seconds at a time." - Max said 'Wow' looking at Mattie in awe.

"You just don't practice as much as you are supposed to." - Vigo pointed out matter of factly, and in the next second Matie was standing behind him flicking his earlobe.

"I think I'm fine for now." - she said smugly to Vigo's scowl.

"That was bloody awesome." - whispered Max with mouth wide open - "What can you do?" - he asked Vigo.

"I read aura."

"What does mine say?" - Max asked having apparently the best day of his life, like a kid on Christmas morning.

Vigo focused for a moment, and his eyes glowed in bright light for a second before they returned to his normal green shade.

"It's silver. Mostly light, which means you are not a bad person but you have a few darker spots."

"What does it mean it's silver? Does it matter?" - Max asked.

"It's somehow connected with Packs. I suppose wolves from your Pack have silver eyes when they change?"

"Yeah."

"So here you go. Don't worry it doesn't mean anything, I just suppose it was meant to help me tell who belongs where, that's all. But the color changes according to your mood. It's brighter when you are at peace and darkens whenever your emotions change."

"Soo, you are basically an Assholes detector?" - Max asked, thinking about all the new things he has learned. We chuckled at that, and so did Vigo.

"I suppose you could say that." - my Cuz admitted with a smirk. He was hard to read, but I knew he already liked Max, and that wasn't easy to achieve, but somehow Australian Guy won him over with that fan boy behaviour.

"Ok, what colour has the others? I kinda feel exposed that you only shared mine." - Max chuckled to himself.

"Ossy has unmanly lilac, as his Pack's colour is violet which makes him overall a good boy, Mattie is light blue most of the time, but when she's arguing with Val she bacomes midnight blue, Moyez, Freddy and Val all have a shade of grey, as they pack colour is black, the lighter of them however is Freddy." - Vigo said in monotonous voice, but I knew him too well to miss that spark in his eyes he was trying to hide.

"So you're a troublemaker, Miss Valkyrie." - Max winked my way.

"I wouldn't say that, but if you put me with those two, I suppose I'm the most interesting one." - I smirked, and both my brother and Beta shouted 'Hey!' at that remark.

"So what about Virgi? You still don't know what she can do?" - Freddy returned to our original subject.

"Nope, but she for sure is a white wolf, although Dad was kinda hoping that at least one of his pups would take after him." - Vigo answered like he didn't care, when in fact I knew he was deeply concerned about his sister, who was the gentlest soul I've ever met. Virginia is a very shy and meek girl, and even though she has strong Alpha genes she deeply despises violence. Something I totally don't get.

I glanced at Matilda and she was looking worried and not at all engaged in our conversation, just absentmindedly pushing the food on her plate. Who would have known that harmless hooking up will return to bite her ass in front of her Mate. It seems that she needs someone to talk to, so I decided to step up.

"Alright, enough of this introduction. See you all by the clock tower at 10. Freddy, bring those bottles or you have no business coming. See ya Guys!" - I said standing up and dragging Mattie with me. We need some girl talk. Immediately.
