Damian POV
She is unbelievable. I was astonished by her performance. Those guys are well-trained soldiers. And yet, she took them down easily. My mate made me very proud. Ares puffed in my head "I told you, she is extraordinary. Why do you always have to doubt my words D?" I just roll my eyes at him. Yeah, yeah he was right. But who could tell, she is so petit and, and fragile? "She just looks like that. But inside, she is a fierce warrior." -"Ares, this is going to be difficult, very difficult." Ares whimpered in my head "But she is mate. She will make you stronger. How can we reject her?" I have to speak with my father. I need his advice, cause I am totally lost. I watched her finish her session. She gained respect from her group today, but also respect from all of us. She held so my authority in her, I was mesmerized and could watch her all day long. Paul interrupted my joy, and Ares growled in my head. "Damian, can you please join me in my office? I need to discuss with you some urgent matter." I jumped from my seat, thinking that something is wrong with my pack. "What is it? Is everything alright at home?" -"Everything is fine, just come with me." We walked in silence to his office. We entered and he show me a sofa to sit, on across from his table. He pour us two whiskeys and sat in his chair. We quietly sat, Paul, watching me closely. I suddenly felt very uncomfortable and desired to break this awkward moment. "Why did you call me here Paul, what's wrong?" He hesitated for a moment but asked me one simple question. "She is your mate, isn't she?" My jaw reached the floor. How the hell did he know that?! "Umm, how do you know that? I haven't told anyone." Paul smiled "You underestimate me young Alpha. I know you since you were a toddler Damian. Your emotions are all over your face, you always had a hard time controlling and covering them. You grew up and learned how to cover them, but not from me. Besides your parents and siblings, I know you the best. What are you going to do about it? She is just a human. A fierce human, but still. She is not aware of our world." I let out a heavy sigh. "I don't know Paul, I am lost. The mate bond is undeniable, and she is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. But, I am taking over the strongest pack in the US in just two months. I am not sure that she can handle it. I think I will have to reject her." Paul was deep in his thoughts. "She maybe is human and a petit one, but I am pretty sure that she can handle Luna's duties, and earn the respect of the pack. She will make you strong and calm. I think you should reconsider your decision. Don't doubt Moon Goddess. She knows what is best for us. And you saw her there, she has pretty much authority over the group." -"Yes, but that is a human group. I don't think that my future pack will respect her. They'll think she is weak. I have to go home for the weekend. I need to speak with my parents. They always have good advice for my siblings and me." -"Of course, I am sorry you have to deal with this Damian. Things would be so much easier for you if you are not supposed to take over the pack." -"I know Paul, but I think this will be best for me and her. I don't want to put her in danger, even if it means that I can't be with her, ever." I stood up and go to the door. Before I exited the room, a turned around "Thank you, Paul, I know you share this with me, my pain and agony. You were always like a second father to me." -"I love you too, Damian. Go and take some rest, I'll see you later." With that, I went to my room. Ares was whimpering in my head, begging me not to give up on our mate. But I have to do this, it is better for her. Without me, she will be safe and happy.
