That night was one of the longest nights that I have had. My eyes would not close because I was scared that they were going to come after me and Derek.
He would stand on his feet and look at the window. He had instructed the soldiers and the guards to be on alert, but that was not enough protection.
When the sun finally drained its face on us, there was a kind of peace that was restored.
I looked at Derek, sleeping peacefully. This was also the time I needed to sleep as well.
After that day and even the days that followed, there was no sign of anyone coming to attack us, we were forced to get free again.
