Chapter 6 The Messenger Of The End

The crowd cheered as the children entered the Mavuso Arena. This was the biggest stadium in the country with the capacity to house eighty thousand people. This stadium was know for having the second largest arch in the world. The outside of the stadium was decorated with obsidian tiles due to its abundance in the country.

While Tesla entered the arena, he tried to block the sun's Ray's with his hand. Behind him students from different schools around the country entered the field. He was wearing a royal blue tracksuit with a single red stripe on both sides. On it was the school emblem of Maganu Academy.

On his left arm was a purple armband with their school's badge. Cody, Zack and Abby all had a similar design to his.

Suddenly the leader of the Magongo clan stood up. Cody couldn't help but notice the difference between him and the other clan leaders. How old is he?

"WELCOME ALL CANDIDATES TO THE ANNUAL KNIGHT ENTRANCE EXAMS. I LUTON MAGONGO WILL BE THE FACILITATOR." Luton spoke, while he looked at the children with a gentle smile. "DURING THIS EXAM YOU WILL BE TASKED WITH FINDING AND CAPTURING YOUR TARGET; WHO IS THAT LOVELY GENTLE MAN OVER THERE." Luton pointed to Cosmo, who was just entering the stadium.

"This is scary." Said a woman who was seated next to Nora.

"Megan you worry to much. Have a little faith." Cody's mother stated.

"I'm just worried about Zack that's all." Hearing this from her friend caused Nora to chuckle.

"What happened to the person who was calm, cool and collected earlier?"

"Shut up Nora." Megan pouted.

"THE TEAM THAT CATCHES HIM WILL AUTOMATICALLY JOIN THE KNIGHT RANKS, HOWEVER THE REST WILL BE PICKED BY THE KNIGHT CAPTAINS THEMSELVES. IF NONE OF THEM CHOOSE, YOU, YOU HAVE FAILED. ATTACKING OTHER TEAMS IS ALLOWED. IF UNABLE TO BATTLE YOU WILL BE BROUGHT BACK HERE." Luton spoke as he signalled for Cosmo to leave the stadium. "THANKS TO INYONI TECH WE WERE ABLE TO BUILD AN ACCURATE SCALE MODEL OF BREMA CITY. MY SMOKE REALM SPELL WILL GOVERN THAT PLACE." Luton ended as the students started to leave the stadium.

"By the way Nora, but are you still investigating them?" Megan asked as she looked at the giant screen on the arch.

"Yes I am. I'm going to find evidence that those bastards created that disease." She responded before noticing someone standing on the roof of the stadium.

"It seems like your daughter has gotten herself a front row seat of her own." Nora chuckled.

On the screen different elemental attacks could be seen. Despite the damage the crowd continued to cheer loudly. Some of the people were chanting the names of the children belonging to their respective clans.

Suddenly, a boy belonging to the Motsa clan found himself face to face with Sito and his team. He tried to attack, but Brandon's 'hydro sphere' broke through his easily. Without too much effort Brandon sent him flying. "How dare you embarrass my clan." As the boy struggled to stand, Brandon placed his left foot on his chest before knocking him out.

"You didn't have to hurt him that much." A girl with long, curly, black hair complained. She watched as the smoke enveloped the Motsa boy and vanish alongside him.

"So this whole city is under Luton's realm technique. That old man is actually powerful huh." Said a boy who approached Maya from behind. His skin was like caramel and he was the same height as Sito. However, his hair was brown in color.

"Cliff shut up. We have company." Sito commanded as he created a thousand light swords. "Maya protect us, Cliff use your poison to keep the close ranged fighters at bay. Leave the rest to me and Brandon."

While Sito's team was fighting, Cody and his team had cornered another team from Boyce academia. Cody ran up the stairs of a building under construction before he manifested his night staff.

"Do it now!" Tesla shouted. Before the other team could react, Cody appeared from the sky carrying a huge staff which he swung at them. They tried their best to evade it, but two of them were hit.

The other two managed to escape, but unfortunately for them they ran into Abby and Zack who defeated them before they could react.

"Another team bites the dust." Abby celebrated.

From the top of one of the buildings, Lana saw an explosion in the distance. "That must be Abby." She stated as she turned to look at her teamates.

"Yeah and Sito's team is towards the east." A boy added as he saw light swords fall like rain.

"By the looks of it the two teams will eventually meet." Lana analyzed. "For now I suggest we look for Cosmo."

"Why don't we go fight the? They should be tired by now." A girl with short pink hair and pink eyes suggested.

"What Lana said is correct and besides we are a man down compared to those teams. Think before speaking Robin."

"Booo! Why are you so mean sometimes Clement?" Robin complained, as she followed her teammates.

As they descended down building, the trio could feel the building shake thanks to all the fighting outside. Some of the windows even started to c***k. Lana seeing how difficult it will be to leave the building, created clouds which they used to descend it.

Like sand from a beanbag, the children returned to the stadium. Upon their return, medical staff from Steky town rushed to help them. "You should know it wasn't always like this. Long ago each clan lived for itself."

"Yeah. It was the arrival of the first Magi that changed that." Megan responded quickly. "And I think it was to fight against a powerful enemy."

"Right, but for some reason the name of the enemy was changed." Nora added.

"What makes you say that?" Megan asked.

"Maskaraid's existence." Nora replied.

Cody and his team soon reached Fairview park at the center of the city. All the trees were still intact, however the was no signs of wildlife unlike the previous areas. Silence filled the area with no smoke clouds in sight.

"Well, well look at what the cat dragged in." Sito spoke, as he appeared from some trees. Brandon and the others followed. "Who knew you'd be the last team we fought against before we found Cosmo."

"The same goes for you, I mean Brandon is on your team after all." Abby commented with a smug smile on her face. Maya quickly covered her mouth as she laughed.

"I take that as an insult you orphan cast off." Brandon stated as he created a water sphere. "I shall personally take you on."

Without wasting time, Sito fired balls of light towards his opponents.

Zack with ease countered using a simple 'gale palm,' sending the attack back at the enemy. At that very moment Abby added her own 'lava balls' into the mix.

Seeing this Maya stepped forward. "Gelatin alchemy: green prison." She casted a spell that blocked and absorbed the attacks. When they exploded the prison was still intact. She then used it to create tentacles which she launched at her opponents.

"My turn." Cody stated as he ran at them. "Night staff expand!" He shouted while slightly increasing the size of his weapon. The dragon carvings appeared which suprised Nora.

Around her people were booing Cody. Some complained about him being allowed to participate when the were better candidates who couldn't.

A dragon mark huh. She thought back to a friend of hers who had one on their weapon. She watched as her son destroyed the green prison that created the tentacles.

Using this chance, Tesla quickly closed in on Sito's team. "Don't let him get close. Cliff you are up." Sito spoke.

Cliff produced a poisonous clouds which surrounded his group. "Wind alchemy : Aeolus blast!" Zack chanted before blowing large amounts of wind from his mouth.

The poison clouds along with the people got blown away. It was at this moment that Tesla fired an arrow made of lightning. "Bolt strike. You should have attacked instead of defending."

"Oh no you don't. Devine whip." Sito responded to the attack. He grabbed the arrow and with enough force threw it back at Tesla.

Tesla watched as the attack flew straight at him. Without hesitation he caught it using his 'lightning glove.' He then crushed the arrow causing it to disappear.

Everyone in the crowd cheered after seeing such display of skills. It was difficult for Nora to think straight as she watched both her children face off against each other. While watching she noticed someone approaching the battle. 

As Sito created his gigantic sword to destroy his opponents, Cody expanded his 'night staff' to counter it. Suddenly, white projectiles appeared from within the forest. Both Cody's and Sito's spells were cancelled. Suddenly they heard footsteps coming approaching them.

"Am I late for the party?" A person laughed as he emerged from the forest. He wore white glasses and jacket. His eyes were pitch black and he was surrounded by white particles.

As he approached the teams Cody noticed that he was dragging something. The person turned his eyes at Cody and smiled before tossing the luggage he was carrying.

"Here's a little gift from yours truly." As the body hit the ground the eyes of the twins widened. Brandon's jaw lowered upon realizing what it was.

"Cosmo!!!" They both shouted before Cody ran up to him. Sito just stood there in shock as images of his father's corpse flooded in his mind. Cosmo like his father was motionless on the ground with a big hole on his chest.

"Not again." Sito muttered.

"Don't worry, it's not dead yet." The person stated, as he put his other hand in his pocket.

"Who are you?" Tesla asked while the others rushed to Cosmo's aid.

"I'm Emanz the abnormal." He responded with a confident smile. "I was told that I would fight strong people here, but all I could find was this sorry excuse of a fifth seat. How lam-."

Emanz was stopped by an army of swords flying at him. He quickly evaded them before attacking Sito.

Cody seeing this ran in front of Sito to block the attack. He shrouded his hands in darkness to try and soften the blow. Unfortunately for him the attack was so strong enough to break through his defenses. The attack dug into Cody like a knife through butter.

"Cody!!!" Maya shouted extremely loud. Lana and her team heard it from a distance.

"It may not be strong, but I have to try." Tesla spoke as he activated his bolt vision. "Lightning dragon blast."

"Let us help you." Abby and Zack joined in. As they flooded Emanz with attacks, Tesla kept looking at Sito who was frozen solid. The boy looked lifeless as if he was drained of it.

As Sito relieved the day his father died someone touched his shoulder. Fortunately this woke him from his dream. "Brandon?"

"Sito this may sound harsh, but this is not the time to cry." Brandon told his friend. "Let's stop him first before we worry about Cosmo."

Upon hearing those words with tears in his eyes Sito grit his teeth."You are right as usual Brandon." Suddenly Sito activated his 'sword of revealing light.' The boy then turned to Maya. "Maya try and use your talent in creation alchemy to heal Cosmo; we will need him. Cliff go hunt down Lana and her team, they should be in the city."

Sito looked at the giant hole where Cosmo's blood was flowing out from in volumes. He then looked at his brother who was unconscious on the floor. The boy then raised his hands in the air before creating another giant sword of light. "I was saving it foy fight against lightning bastard, but you'll do for now."

Sito pointed towards Emanz who slightly smiled. The attack soon made contact scattering debris everywhere. Brandon created a shield around himself to block the debris while Zack used his gale palm technique to stop the attack from touching Cosmo and the others. Even Sito was protected.

"You're all exciting, but the power you all have is not enough." While Emanz was speaking his watch started beeping. "Huh; lucky for you I have to leave right now. However, let me leave you something to remember me by."

Suddenly all the white particles around Emanz started merging into on big blob. Like lightning four reptilian legs appeared along with a muscular tail. A crocodile like face was formed with two fangs half the size of it's legs sticking out. It had four rows of spines from it neck to the tip of it's tail and it's red eyes opened.

"Say hello to my little friend. Lime stone creation: Birth of Camu." He calmly spoke as he turned his back on everyone. "Bye for now guys and take care."

Emanz then vanished into limestone before his creature roared so loud that the trees got uprooted. The kids barely survived thanks to the combination of both Brandon and Zack creating a strong barrier.

"Cody's brother I don't think we'll survive if we fight this separately. Let's work together."

"Sure, but don't hold me back. This will be a good warm up before our real match." Sito smiled nervously. As the creature prepared to attack all the kids jumped into action.
