Chapter 15 Telegram

As the storm of blades flew closer to the village, the strange woman sunk into a shadow and vanished, along with Bang. All the shadow hands faded away as well.

Without wasting any time Becca leaped into the air.  If I can stop the spell early, maybe I can save her as well. Becca thought, as her energy levels started rising.

"Extreme release: Zhiz!" Becca shouted before a gigantic bird made of wind appeared behind her. Becca was like an ant to it.

So this is the so called extreme alchemy. Tesla remembered what his brother said.

Just as the first few blades were about to you touch Pride, Becca clapped her hands. Simultaneously Zhiz flapped its wings. The bird created a big tornado, which moved fast towards the on coming blade storm.

The attack did stop the storm however, it was already too late for Pride. She was skewered by multiple feather blades killing her in the process.

Becca screamed before she flew to catch her. With tears in her eyes, the Mamba princess managed to catch her. However, Pride's life was fading.

With the last amount of energy she had Pride opened her eyes one last time and spoke. Instead of seeing Becca she saw her mother. "Th...Thank you Becca...for allowing me to see my... Mom one last time. I'm sure you already heard... But, my name is Rebecca Ngidi. I was named after my grandma... due to us having similar eye color."

During this moment Becca was crying. She was filled with both anger and deep regret. She gently placed Pride on the ground and waited for her last breath. Like the setting sun in the horizon, her life faded away welcoming the darkness of the night.

Meanwhile, the group that went to Rainbow arrived back at Midas city. As Cody got off the vehicle Ozen called him over.

"You called Sir." The boy responded.

"I'm not speaking a Magi nephew, I'm speaking as an uncle right now." Ozen corrected his brother's child. He roughed up Cody's hair a bit. However, this confused the boy.

"I know I'm late but, congrats on joining the knights. I can't wait to see what you will accomplish... Both you and your brother by the way." Ozen smiled.

"So that smile is a family thing." Abby commented. She then observed Brandon talking to his mother about the mission. She looked around and noticed that no one was headed her way. Like normal I'm always alone. Without being noticed she left the area.

However, Ozen did notice this while talking to Cody. "Before you go, can I ask you a few questions?"

As a frog called out for a mate, Becca was preparing to board the bus. Due to her over exerting herself, Becca's entire body was in pain. It was difficult to move a muscle.

"Thanks for saving our village miss Becca. You taught us alot." Nux stated as the other villagers gathered around them.

Becca simply smiled proudly as she pointed at herself with her thumb. "That's part of a knights' job. I'm sorry we couldn't get the item back." As soon as the people left the smile was replaced by a frown. She then looked at a hill and saw bunch of rocks pilled up creating a make shift grave.

"Goodbye to you to Rebecca."

"Thanks for saving me there kid. You are one brave brat." Sito told the girl. She looked down at her the ground clutching her doll close to her. "Now where are your parents? I must thank them too." He continued as he looked around. The girl came close to him and hugged his leg.

One of the villagers upon seeing this approached Sito. "Lerato's parents have gone missing. Nobody knows where they went or if they are still breathing. Her father left her here before leaving and ever since she's been alone. We think it has something to do with her attribute."

"What do you mean?" Sito asked.

"Well she's an abnormal for one."

This revelation shocked Sito. He quickly looked at the girl and remembered the vow he made at Cosmo's tomb. Lerato is an abnormal. How can someone who risked their own life to protect me be a member of that group? It was at that moment that Sito remembered Cody jumping in front him to protect him from Emanz attack.

Before the bus left, Sito was seated at the back. "I hope you realize that not all abnormals are as evil as people make them out to be." Tesla stated, as he sat in front of Sito.

Cody's brother then looked outside. He directed his attention at Lerato who seemed sad. She did save my life after all. This is the least I can do for now.

Suddenly, Sito stood up from his chair. "Hey kid, don't cry! I'll come by to visit you and maybe train a little!" Sito shouted. Lerato quickly looked up at Sito and smiled. She waved her hand in the air, while holding the last gift her father bought her.

Becca laughed upon hearing that. Even though he is a step behind Cody and Tesla, Sito has just taken his first step on becoming the Magi. She thought as she looked on ahead.

Meanwhile, Brandon, Abby and Cody approached the mission hall to report back. "Great job abnormal, you were an asset to this mission. I'm sorta surprised." Brandon proudly proclaimed as he grabbed the door handle.

"So mommy's boy can talk after all." Abby laughed while Cody joined in the humor.

"At least my mother never abandoned me." Brandon replied as he opened the door. Instead of erupting Abby took a deep breath. This impressed Cody a lot.

"Welcome back rookies!" Nedine spoke as she stood up from her chair.

"Who is that Cody? She is wearing your squads uniform." Abby asked as she stared at Nedine.

"That is my squad's vice captain Nedine Mavuso." Cody responded proudly. Abby and Brandon stared her down as she approached.

"I am sure glad I'm not part of his squad." Abby and Brandon spoke in unison.

But to be honest she is stronger than our vice captain. Maybe the is some hope for the Wyverns after all. Brandon thought. Just before she could reach them, Nedine tripped on the carpet and fell. Nope this country is doomed if Trinity dies.

Immediately after that, she started snoring. Some of the other Wyverns rushed to pick her up. Lola was amongst them. Cody waved at her, but got no response. Seeing this annoyed Abby, however before she could act a familiar face approached them from the reception desk.

"Maya!" Abby shouted.

"Hi everyone." She responded as she waved a single hand.

She stared straight at Cody giving him a special smile. Cody shy as he is could not find the proper words to speak. Hear we go again. He thought.

Before she could get closer Brandon walked away from the group. "Talking to one abnormal is enough, adding another one is draining. I'm going to submit my report."

"I think I'll join him. See you later you two. Don't do anything I wouldn't do." Abby spoke as she left. Good luck Cody.

As Abby was walking away, Cody noticed the devilish smile on her face. The two briefly exchanged glares before Abby looked away.

Suddenly, Cody discovered that Maya was standing in front of him. She had her hands placed behind her as she stared at him. This is the moment. Maybe the two can patch things up and return to the good old days, before the incident. Abby thought as she remembered the past.

"Since your friends aren't here, do you m-mind getting a drink with me...?" Maya asked as her face turned pink.

"S-sure." Cody responded. From the distance someone wearing the the serpentine squad uniform watched the two. Her eyes were green like Maya and her hair was also orange like Maya too. Overall the two look similar but not the same.

"She is fifteen and she still struggles with talking to boys." The person stated as she drank her cola. "This is sad and pathetic at the same time. I can't believe she is my little sister."

"But vice captain, you are single yourself if I remember correctly." A man walking behind her spoke.

"Shut up Langa. I don't need a boyfriend." She responded as she remembered Wyet back when they were teenagers.

"So uh." Cody and Maya spoke in unison. At that moment Cody's chilly fries arrived. Just before he could eat one, he noticed that Maya was drooling a bit.

"D-Do you want to share? I've got plenty." Cody asked. Maya rapidly nodded her head.

"Th-Thanks." Maya responded. Seeing Maya eat a chilly fry made Cody smile a bit.

"W-What's so funny?" Maya asked as she blushed.

"I thought you had out grown them. Everyone tells me that they are for children." Cody spoke.

"No I haven't, I still love them. They just remind me of the good old days." Maya laughed. "I'm just shocked that you still eat them."

"Why shouldn't I? These were a symbol of our friendship. On top of that, they taste really good." Cody continued. "By the way, the is something I've been meaning to tell you for some time now."

"Um Cody waters dripping from you." Cody's face turned red with embarrassment. He looked down at his pants but, saw that they were dry. "I meant your bandaged hand silly." She added while giggling slightly.

Without out saying a word, Cody ran out of the mission hall. Maya quickly followed behind.

The two ran to Trinity's house where they found him outside enjoying the beautiful night sky with his snakes. He had a piping hot bowl of tripe with pouridge on the side. This was his favorite meal for a time such as this. "What a beautiful evening to enjoy a home cooked meal." He sighed as he thought about the events of today. Especially when he met Precious.

Suddenly one of his snakes turned to the gate. He quickly deduced what was happening and nimbly prepared. "Is it time!?" He asked to make sure of the situation.

Cody simply nodded before Trinity placed his meal on a window seal. He told them to throw the bandages in to the flower pot he brought outside. Quickly Cody unwrapped his hand freeing it from it's shackles. He felt a cool breeze as he completely removed it.

He threw the bandages into the flower pot before the ice completely melted. Steam appeared and in the steam Ted showed up. "This is a spell Ted himself developed. He called it Clairvoyant ice steam. We can see what his alchemy knows."

Cody was amazed by such talent. In fact he was now proud of being the messenger. Maya laughed upon seeing his facial expression. Maya blushed upon seeing that smile.

"Trinity I'm sorry for my actions but, I need your help. Rainbow is currently under a hostile take over. Eighty percent of the population is under mind control. But helping the nation is secondary, by my God please find and save princess Layla. She will tell you everything you need to know. If you don't then our country and every other country in the continent is doomed. I directed her towards your nation. Please find her."

The mist dispersed leaving the three in shock. Trinity immediately ran to the Magi Mansion to speak with Ozen as he finished his meal quickly.

"As I suspected from all the reports you submitted. The was an erie of threat. I'll organise a search team now. Trinity you get some rest, because I have a feeling that war is upon us and please next time you come here wear some pant you are a captain." Ozen spoke while asking Maya to call forth her commander for something important.

The others returned from Sargo Village only to see another vehicle leave. Zack spotted Cody plus Maya on it. What's going on?
