Chapter 3

Everyone shook hands and the moment Enola shook mine, there were sparks once again that made me feel like a teenage boy that had never been touched by a girl before and this made me feel giddy inside. I smiled slightly trying to be polite but I mostly paid attention to Enola's reaction to our hands touching and I saw her fidget but it happened so quickly that if I blinked, I would have missed it all together.

So, she felt it as well, I thought to myself but that thought left as soon as it came because she removed her hand from mine quickly not allowing our handshake to last as long as it did the first-time

I shook Rose’s hand firmly to see if maybe I would feel the sparks that I felt with Enola I thought maybe I might have been hallucinating this whole time and they never came, Rose looked right into my eyes and smiled, she batted her long eye lashes which looked a bit fake

A part of me was relieved that I did not feel the spark with Rose because that would have meant I could be losing my mind, I know I have been waiting a long time for my mate but I am pretty sure it won't be a girl like Rose, well I actually hope it won't be but also worry crushes right into me, my wolf is silent at the back of my head when I need him the most so he can confirm this Enola theory because Jean and Dom will be on my case until I tell them what happened.

As the ladies exist the restaurant, I can feel myself tense up because I know for sure Jean and Dom were just waiting for them to leave so they can question me about what they had seen.

I keep searching for my wolf at the back of my head but it seems like he has gone into hiding or somehow is choosing to be silent, ‘just great, he chooses to be silent now of all times when I need him the most when he is basically a chatter box’ I think to myself

“DUDE! what was that all about?” asked Dom

“I honestly do not know my wolf is definitely in hiding, but there was definitely something there” I said

“She is half witch and I just hope that she does not have some enchantment on her that could possibly lore me into thinking she is my mate” I said, but mostly to myself

“That is not possible considering that she was not even interested in actually having this meeting” said Jean in an annoyed tone

I rolled my eyes at her tone

“I do not know what you want me to say because my wolf is just not saying anything to me, he is there but he isn't saying anything to me at all which is shocking.” I said

“Could you at least fill us in on what that moment was about then because it sure looked like there was a connection. She also felt it but her reaction to it was quick enough to not raise any suspicions which could mean that she might know what is going on.” said Dom

“Can we at least wait on my wolf’s answer then maybe we can conclude this because no matter what theory we may have about this only he can be sure.” I said trying this end this conversation so I can go back to working in my hotel room

“Her scent is very faint, not to mention that the cinnamon that all witches have was barely noticeable, though I could clearly tell apart Rose's scent and her perfume.” said Jean

“Yes, all witches have the cinnamon scent and something else, Rose’s other scent is burnt wood which we all know what that means,” said Jean

“That means she has a bad aura and she is half witch as well which is why her cinnamon scent faint as well” I said

Dom just set there looking puzzled as ever

“Man, this is why I was hard on you about paying attention in school because this is basic information that everyone is supposed to know” I said to Dom

“I was paying attention to other more important things” said Dom with a grin

Jean and I rolled our eyes

The waiter brought another round of drinks seeing that our glasses were empty

“I told him to keep our glasses full and it seems he will be getting a very handsome tip because he clearly understood the assignment” said Dom as he chuckled

“You are tipsy” I said

“Should we discuss business tomorrow morning at breakfast or should we just do it now and ignore ‘him’?” I asked Jean

“I think its best we deal with everything now,” said Jean

“Don't mind me, I will contribute my two cents when I feel it is needed” said Dom as he downed his drink

Jean and I simply ignored him, I guess he made this meeting happen so he can enjoy himself for now. We did put a lot of pressure on him when he had begged us to let him set this meeting up. Usually, Jean is the one who secures our meetings while Dom was just brought along to be the life of a party for the business partners who want to have fun, seeing that I am forced to be stuck up around people, Dom is simply unapologetically himself which I admire about him.

“Good job on getting Enola to meet us” I said to him as I patted his shoulder lightly

“I actually didn’t think you would be able to pull this off, but you proved us wrong, well-done Dom” said Jean as she gave Dom a sweet smile

“Her offer is a bit extreme; I honestly don’t think she will let us be the majority shareholders at a later stage so giving her 75% seems like it will come back to bite us in the a**s” I said

“Just say you do not want to submit to her offer because it will bruise your masculinity,” said Jean

“Okay then what do you suggest?" I asked

“It's simple, give her what she wants and hope that she will keep her word and let us buy a portion of her shares so we can be the majority shareholders. Right now, we do not have any other options and we are in need for a quick money-making business, all our investments won't give us the money to keep the pack afloat, we cannot risk letting a good deal down the drain,” said Jean

“But” I said

But Jean cuts me off and says: “But nothing, your masculinity is the last thing we need to deal with right now, you know very well that the mine will make us rich in no time so I do not see the need to be stingy”

I simply huffed and replied “well I hope this doesn't turn into a bad deal”

“Well, we will just have to hope that the rumours about her buying her partners out of her businesses was all just a miss understanding” Dom finally says

“We are trying to be positive why would you say that” snorted Jean

“Well, I had to seeing that both of you forgot that her previous business partners said she blackmailed and threatened them so they could sell their shares to her,” said Dom

“I am sure there is a logical explanation for all that besides she never released any statement about those allegations, besides, she bought the shares from them not force them into giving their shares to her at no cost," said Jean

“She never addresses any allegations, she has close to no social life, we do not know enough about her to trust that she will not rip us off,” said Dom

“Could both of you stop being negative she seems like a nice girl and we have no choice but to take this offer, in case both of you have forgotten, we need to make sure the pack does not suffer financially especially since we keep growing in numbers,” said jean

I just kept quiet, I was in deep thought and right now I had to make sure we already know if we are taking Enola’s deal or try to find other ways to make money

“Mikey were you able to tell what her aura seemed like?” asked jean

“Actually, not at all, her assistant has a very bad aura around her but Enola has none which is why I suspect she was hiding her scent.”

“Well, we cannot judge her by what her assistant’s aura looks like, I say we go for it and see where it takes us. I need to go rest so I can get enough sleep. Tomorrow might be a draining day,” said jean

“She has a hot assistant that I will definitely bang so I also say yes, what about you alpha?” said Dom “Well it seems the odds are against me so I might as well give in, it would have been easier if I could read her aura" I said

“I am happy we are all on the same page and I hope no one will be late for the meeting tomorrow enjoy your evening gentlemen.” says Jean as she heads for the exist

I am happy they did not push me into giving them answers that I myself did not have. I am currently throwing a fit in my head searching for my wolf because not knowing if Enola is my mate is driving me crazy.

I guess Dom does not want to push it as well because as soon as Jean is out of sight he grins and says “the night is young and so are we, please tell me you are up for at least a bit of partying. It would be a waste to only be here for business and not have fun” he looks at me with excitement in his eyes.

“Dom we both know you are a party animal and going out will only result in me leaving you at the club or babysitting you while you enjoy yourself and we might not make it to our meeting or we will be grumpy, I prefer neither so I'm calling it a night” I say to Dom

He shrugs and drowns his drink yet again; I just wave to the waiter and ask for the bill.

“You wanted us to give you more responsibilities and part of that is making sure we do not mess this up, we will celebrate once we have sealed the deal tomorrow” I say in a cheerful tone hoping that he takes my word for it because knowing Dom, he just might decide to go out partying alone and that never ends well.
