Jessa stepped into the cozy café, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee wrapping around her like a comforting blanket. She wasn’t sure why she had come today—perhaps it was the need for a change, a break from the constant noise in her mind. It had been a long week, full of challenges, deadlines, and emotional turmoil. She hoped the quiet hum of the café would give her some peace. As she ordered her coffee, her eyes scanned the room, looking for an empty table. Her usual spot by the window was taken, but there, in the corner near the back, was a table for one. It seemed perfect. She walked over, her heart pounding slightly. She wasn’t used to going out alone anymore. After everything that had happened, the idea of spending time by herself felt unfamiliar, almost daunting. And then, she saw him. Nathan sat at the corner table, his attention fixed on his laptop. The soft flicker of the screen reflected in his eyes, and his brows furrowed as he typed quickly. There was something magnetic about the way he carried himself—confident, yet grounded. His dark hair was tousled, and he wore a simple navy blue shirt that looked casual but effortlessly stylish. As Jessa settled into her seat, she couldn’t help but notice how the light from the window cast a warm glow on Nathan’s face, making him look almost… untouchable. She quickly turned her attention to the coffee in front of her, trying not to make eye contact. But the universe had other plans. Just as she took a sip of her drink, Nathan looked up from his screen. His eyes met hers across the room. Time seemed to pause for a moment. Jessa felt a rush of heat spread through her cheeks, her pulse quickening. She quickly looked away, pretending to focus on her phone. She had no idea why her body reacted this way—after all, she barely knew him. But something about him stirred a feeling she hadn’t had in a long time.
