I'm not sure if it is the lack of oxygen to his brain or his deathbed guilt but my father has asked Nella to save me. He truly believes that she is the Ultra Luna. From the outside, it may look like a gesture of love or good faith. It may seem like he is trying to make amends for his actions.

I would be fooling myself to think that it was because he actually cared.
