CHAPTER 3 - Bébé

1867 Words
“God, these cookies are the best ever!” Beside me. Marcy let out a moan which had Justin gawking at her. “I could have a dozen of these.” Another moan followed and then she saw Justin shift on his seat uncomfortably. She curled her hand and fist pumped below the tablecloth. So, she was right. Justin did have the hots for Marcy. Marcy helped herself to a few more cookies and Justin looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here. As their eyes met, she couldn’t help but wiggle them suggestively. His eyes comically widened before pleading to stop it. She nodded, but was going to investigate further. “Enough Marcy. These cookies have a lot of calories. Don’t want to be kicked off the dance team right?” Marcy almost dropped the cookie at that thought. “Gosh, why did you let me have so many of them?” Before any of could stop her, she was off taking her coat and running out of the house. Shouting that she needed to go to the gym urgently. As soon as Marcy was gone, she moved to the chair beside Justin’s. “Tell me everything.” He tried to feign innocence. “What?” “Don’t what me. I want to know everything.” She pinched his arm for good measure. He winced and she threatened. “Tell me or I’ll do it again.” “Gosh, you’re such a bully.” “Justin.” After a lot of coaxing, he finally admitted that he liked her. For a long time now. But was scared of rejection. Like any other normal guy. August decided that it wasn’t any of her business but did advise him to tell her. After all, they all were graduating in two months. He needed to act fast if he wanted her that bad. ******************************************************************************* August sat down to do her homework but just couldn’t concentrate. It also didn’t help that the subject was French. Nana was already asleep. The twins were out of town for some beauty convention. Kevin was with his girlfriend. Marcy at dance rehearsals and Justin, she just had no idea. The house was too huge and she felt lonely. Not knowing what to do, she called Ben. “I am bored, can I come in?” “Baby, it’s your day off.” Was the reply she got followed by some loud songs, followed by static and then loud moans. “Come ASAP.” She reached the club by eleven. Bébé was written in bold at the entrance. It was on of the most famous clubs in Victoria. People from all over the state visit this place. Since, it was a Saturday the line was so long that the last person would have to wait post midnight for entry. Saturday also meant that she had dressed up. So, just for fun, she decided to enter from the front. As expected, there were rude comments as the door opened for her. She simply let out a flying kiss to those in the line. “Having fun kid?” She turned and came face to chest with a large man. Towering over her by almost a meter, she could barely see anything expect the shine on his bald head as the lights passed over them. “It’s Saturday Tom. Why not?” “You look beautiful darling.” She hugs him, grateful. Seeing he was the only one calling him that. “Gotta go. See ya later Tom.” Ben looked like his BP was about to shoot to two hundred. “Ben?” “Baby.” The endearment didn’t go unnoticed by the people, especially the girls who had dolled up to impress him. “Ben. What happened?” He simply pulled her into a hug. “These girls won’t leave me alone baby.” He murmured in her ear. Pressing a small kiss to it. August couldn’t help but giggle in his chest. “Come on honey. Let’s drive the girls away.” August then removed her coat handing it off to Ben. “Do you like it baby?” There were a few moments in life Ben was left speechless. This was one of the moments. When Ben was silent for more that a few minutes, she grew concerned. “Ben, what’s wrong?” She nudged him and then full on shook him. “Damn baby.” That was followed by wolf whistle. August couldn’t help but blush. Rendering people speechless wasn’t her thing. She didn’t even suspect that she looked this good today. There was mirror beside her. One glance and August couldn’t help but agree with Ben. Her figure was leaning towards the plump side. The plain peach dress she wore accentuated her waist and hips. The dress was tight till her waist and flowy till her mid thigh. Always on the short edge of the scale, her nude heels did the job of increasing her height by quite a bit. Her wavy light brown shoulder length hair was left open so that the dark blonde highlights were visible. She didn’t have the perfect jawline, but there was no double chin. Her hazel eyes accentuated by a number of eye products and her small plump lips painted in sultry maroon color. She had to admit, today, she was a vision alright. “What happened to you?” Ben drags August to his office. She can barely keep up. The stupid heels causing to almost fall every two seconds. “I just wanted to dress up I guess. Something new.” It just felt right dressing up today. “Baby, if I was straight I’d propose.” “Now that’s exaggeration.” There was no way her hunky, gay and hotter than hell boss would propose to her. Even if he was straight. “Let me finish baby.” Ben looks her in the eyes as they reach his office. “For an unforgettable night.” “I have two questions. One, are you even gay?” Maybe that’s just a well crafted lie to keep all the girls on bay. Maybe he has a wife at home. With Ben, just about anything is possible. “Second, are you trying to tell me something?” This question was just for her benefit. Getting to tease Ben was one of the favourite parts of her job. “All I’m saying is that you look damn pretty baby.” She kept her mouth shut on the fact that he deliberately ignored the gay question. He’s gotta be straight. She entered the bar area as soon as she left Ben’s office. There was so much rush that she was barely even able to get inside the bar. The moment she entered, all she heard was French. “Toute la place remplie de trous du cul.” (The whole place filled with assholes) Despite having it as a subject in school, she was miserable when it came to French and had no idea what Maurice meant. “Hey M. Tough night?” The man turned to her with a scowl. Definitely bad. “Going out.” Just like that he was out. She was to look after the whole bar area. Luckily for her, Ben had hired a few temp staff. **************************************************************** By one, there was s o much crowd that August could almost smell the sweat. It was disgusting. Why did she even come to work in the first place? Oh yes, because she was bored. “One bottle whisky.” A deep voice brought her out of her dreamland. The dim lights barely allowed her to view the owner of the voice. All she could see that the man was built. Like a bear. “Sir, a bottle?” He may have the stamina of a horse but a bottle of whisky could very well harm him. “Yes ange, a bottle of Crown Royal Deluxe.” She almost chokes on the fact that it was around one and half l****s. There was no way this man was drinking it all alone. He must have friends waiting for him. “Just one glass.” He interrupts her when she picks up two-three glasses. Even as she was serving him, his face was not clearly visible. “Here you go sir.” She added after some thought. “Just be careful and please don’t drive.” “Promise ange. No driving.” August let out a breath and got back to serving other customers. It was almost three by when Thomas and rest of the bouncers kicked everyone out. The heels which seemed like a good option then were killing her feet now. They were most likely bruised and swollen. Maurice didn’t return which meant that he was either racing or at some brotherel. Ben too was cooped up in his office. “Bye Tom. See ya on Monday.” The street was empty, not a dog in sight. Her car was parked at a distance and it was growing colder as she walked. The heels were killing her and all she wanted was a hot bubble bath. One second she was walking fine. The next she was on the footpath. Her stupid heel broke and it looked like her ankle was sprained. The pain made it impossible for her to get up, let alone walk. She sat there at three am in the morning, contemplating her options. It was either crawl to her car or call someone. Before she could do either, she was lifted by someone. The bear from the club. “Hey man, what are you trying to do? Let me down this instant.” She twisted in his arms and hit his shoulder but the man just didn’t budge. “You’re hurt ange. Let me help you to your car. Tell me which one is it.” August looked up to the man in front of her. A gasp automatically came out as she saw him. He was no less that six three or four. The effortless way he carried indicated that he was well built. He had blonde hair upto his shoulder which was tied into a half ponytail. On most guys it would have looked bad, on him it looked hot. He also had a bear which reminded her of Thor….or Charlie Hunnam. Either way, it was sending her teenage hormones into overdrive. He had small eyes but it was suiting and not so perfect eyebrows. He was simply pure male. She pointed her car and he place her in the front seat like it was child’s play. “Thank you so much. I’ll manage to drive home.” “Ne jamais te laisser partir ange.” (Never letting you go angel.)
