It was 2 a.m. at Winslow Capital. Right after the victory banquet, Lynn had to rush back to New York. She was just about to head to bed when she suddenly remembered that she had left her laptop at the office. Since she wanted to sleep in, she made the trip all the way back to the company in the middle of the night.
The second she stepped off the elevator, she ran straight into Adrian and the company's PR manager, Shane Tylor. The two men had been chatting when they spotted her, and Shane was the first to speak up. He asked, "What are you doing here so late?"
Lynn replied that she came to pick up something. She turned her head toward Adrian and greeted him with a grin. She asked, "Are you still working overtime this late? I thought you were supposed to be keeping Miss Winslow company."
