POV: SERGEANT BRAVO ㅤ The descent was a blur of gravity and terror. We hit the emergency chute just as the upper floors of the Obsidian Spire began to fold in on themselves. The sound was like a mountain of glass being crushed by a giant hand—a deafening, screeching symphony of failing technology. ㅤ We tumbled out of the exhaust vent at the base of the tower and hit the pavement hard. I didn't stop to check for broken bones. I grabbed Jace and dragged him behind the charred remains of an armored transport just as the top twenty floors of the spire detached and plummeted into the street. ㅤ BOOM. ㅤ The shockwave blew out the windows of every building within three blocks.
