“Don't you dare touch me,” she spat, her glare sharp enough to draw blood. “You promised me I would be your Luna. You promised I would be the only woman in your bed until our last breath. I waited for you faithfully. I never allowed anyone to touch me, even when I had to do those filthy things for you. How could you do this to me?”
“I didn't mean to hurt you. And I swear, I'm going to keep my promise to you,” Kael defended himself, his voice strained. “This is my first time doing this.”
“Second time,” Lyra corrected quickly.
Kael clenched his jaw, annoyed by her interruption.
Then her innocent voice shifted into one of feigned concern. “We didn't mean for this to happen, but what else could we do when it was necessary, just like your job? Please, don't blame us.”
"You shameless little w***e," Louisa growled, her hands clenching into fists. "How dare you spew that as if you haven't done anything wrong?!"
"Kael, she's going to hurt me!" Lyra cried out like a bullied child.
Louisa stormed forward to pounce on Lyra but was grabbed by the arm and pulled back.
"Will you listen to me or not?" Kael demanded, his expression hardening for a fraction of a second.
Louisa couldn't believe he would protect Lyra when neither of them showed an ounce of remorse for this betrayal.
"You two will hear from me."
With that, she yanked her arm free from his grip and ran out of the room.
Lyra’s face drained of colour the second she registered her sister’s threat. She sprang up from the bed, frantically ruffling her messy hair.
"We cannot let her leave like that!" Lyra's voice trembled in sheer terror. "She is going to tell everyone. We'll be doomed. We have to stop her!"
Kael snapped back to his senses, snatching up his scattered clothes from the floor, ready to chase after Louisa.
He might become the future Alpha the moment he married Louisa, but he knew his father, the Alpha King, heavily favoured her over him.

Louisa rushed back home, weeping uncontrollably despite her efforts to control it.
Her body trembled with every muffled sob in grief, as everything beautiful she had envisioned between them had crashed down in a single night.
As she stumbled inside the house, a firm voice called out, pulling Louisa from the emotional pain that was about to collapse her wholly.
"Louisa, did you go elsewhere?"
Louisa froze midway in the living room. She spotted her mother and father hurrying toward her.
Their faces were etched with panic, as if terrible news had already reached them.
"Mom, I really hope this is a nightmare. I don't want to believe this," she whimpered, falling into her mother's arms when the older woman drew closer.
"What has happened cannot be undone. Just bear with it for the time being," Lady Helen said.
Hearing that, Louisa's heartbroken expression twisted into bewilderment.
She pulled away from Helen's embrace immediately.
"What are you saying?" she uttered, her sharp gaze darting between her parents.
They exchanged a wary, suspicious look.
Her father, Beta Silas Everett, placed a coaxing hand on her shoulder. "Lyra called us. She said you were hurt, thinking Alpha Kael cheated on you. But he didn't."
"This is driving me insane. How could you possibly call that not cheating?"
"My comrades were wounded and starving. They needed resources to recover, and Lyra offered to deliver them, but she was attacked and poisoned on the way," Kael answered instead from the entrance.
Louisa didn't spare him a glance when the blood in her veins was still boiling at the slightest thing about those two cheaters.
She remembered wanting to handle the food, medicine, weapon and other resource deliveries under the Alpha King's orders. But her sister had come begging for the chance to prove herself, desperate to show she was capable of handling pack duties despite being born with a weak wolf.
She hadn't minded. Taking pity on her sister's endless crying, she had given in since she couldn't bear the thought of Lyra feeling out of place or getting bullied by their peers.
Yet she never expected that act of kindness would someday bring her such heart-wrenching pain.
Kael hurried around to stand in front of her, wearing a pleading look, as though that would soften her heart.
"The poison was draining her wolf's power. She needed a powerful Alpha's heat to purge the toxin. If not, Lyra might be gone. It's not like I wanted this," he explained, his tone slightly upset.
But his ego refused to let him apologise properly. He spoke as if he had merely been performing a noble life duty, sending fresh waves of disgust churning in Louisa’s stomach.
"And you expect me to believe that?" she scoffed, her sharp eyes glaring at him before shifting to Lyra.
Lyra had completely dropped her calculating, taunting smirk, replacing it with a mask of perfect remorse. She kept her gaze on her elder sister, eyes glistening with unshed tears.
"The pack’s physician confirmed it. What else could I do? I couldn't just sit there and watch her die," Kael replied.
"That does not warrant you to f**k Lyra behind my back all this time!" she retorted bitterly. "I cannot believe you all kept me in the dark. Even my own parents, who are supposed to protect me!"
"We knew you wouldn't accept this. That's why she decided to keep it a secret. We didn't expect you'd find out so soon," Beta Silas admitted.
"Let it go, dear," her mother added softly.
"Let it go? Can't she go to any of the warriors here?! They are strong too. Why my fiancé? How do you expect me to share my mate with my own sister?" Louisa's voice was tight with overwhelming hurt and confusion as her breath came ragged. "Why must I always be the one sacrificing what matters to me just to make Lyra feel better?! Why can't she stop wanting everything from me?!"
The room fell into a tense silence. Hot tears rolled down her cheeks despite her efforts to contain them.
"You're a woman too, Mom. You should know how a betrayal like this feels." She spoke again, breaking the suffocating silence.
Helen guiltily lowered her head, unable to meet Louisa's devastating stare.
A pang of exasperation shot through Kael at her blind refusal to simply accept what had happened.
Right now, all that mattered to him was getting her trust back. He dragged his palms roughly down his face, stepping forward to close the gap between them.
"Once she's healed, I promise I won't have anything to do with Lyra ever again. We'll go back to normal. No one else will come between us."
Louisa clenched her fist at her side for the second time as she fought the overwhelming urge to slap the stupidity right off his face.
She wanted him to feel the heartbreak, tearing through her right now, even if her wolf was reacting strangely quietly to the betrayal.
"You disgust me, Kael," She rebuked harshly.
She walked past him, her shoulder brushing coldly against his chest, carrying the draining weight of the betrayal.
Standing still in observation all this time, a dangerous thought crossed Lyra's mind—a way to get rid of Louisa once and for all.
She darted after her sister before their parents could make any attempt.
“Please wait, Louisa! Hear me out! I know it's difficult for Kael to explain because he feels too ashamed to tell you from the start!” she called out.
Louisa didn't stop, continuing her furious march up the stairs.
"You don't have to blame anyone," Lyra pleaded, grabbing Louisa’s hand.
She shot Lyra a lethal glare. “Let go."
Instead of letting go, Lyra tightened her grip around Louisa’s wrist, deliberately digging her manicured nails deep into her sister's flesh.
Louisa winced, her face twisting in raw pain. She never expected the fragile little sister she had spoiled to be not just manipulative, but truly vicious.
“It's my fault that my wolf chose him and could only work that way. So please, don't break your beautiful bond with Alpha Kael over me. It's not worth it, right?” Lyra purred in a mocking tone, rubbing salt directly into her sister's wound.
"Screw you, Lyra!” Louisa growled through gritted teeth.
She yanked her arm free.
But what happened next stunned her to the core.
Lyra let out a piercing cry of sheer panic and deliberately threw herself backwards. She collapsed and tumbled down the steep staircase, causing Louisa's eyes to widen in absolute terror.
"Lyra!!” Kael and their parents screamed in horror.
