The journey to the university felt far too long and far too short at the same time. For most of the drive, silence filled the vehicle. Not an uncomfortable silence, but the kind that came when nobody knew what to say anymore. Derek drove while Zadok sat in the passenger seat, occasionally glancing back at me like he wanted to check whether I was alright. The not so funny part was, I wasn’t.
