GIAN'S POV:
As she emerged from the swirling portal, she found me sulking and dramatically crossing my arms, a pout etched across my face. "Could you have taken any longer?" I complained with an exaggerated huff, my annoyance evident.
"What happened to you?" She inquired, her eyes scanning my disgruntled demeanor.
"You're asking? You practically had me waiting for an eternity," I retorted, infusing my words with a sassy tone while maintaining my pout, just for dramatic effect.
"Ouch!" I exclaimed as her hand met my cheek with an unexpected slap. The irony wasn't lost on me; I was the one who had been waiting, yet she was the one dishing out the punishment.
"Come on, let's head to the headmistress's office," she urged, her tone firm.
I pouted once more, putting on a display of childish resistance.
Glancing at the towering gates of the academy, my breath caught in my throat, and all I could manage to utter was a breathless "Wow." Seriously, this place was beyond impressive. The gates gleamed with opulent golden accents, and the academy's emblem shone brilliantly. As the gates swung open before us, I felt like I was stepping into a world of magic.
We ventured further inside, and the sight that greeted us was nothing short of awe-inspiring. It wasn't a school; it was a palace. My gaze wandered, taking in the enchanting scenery. Delicate creatures flitted through the air, resembling ethereal fairies. Lush, vibrant vegetation adorned every corner, and at the heart of it all, a magnificent fountain gushed forth crystal-clear water. Beauty enveloped me at every turn, and I couldn't help but marvel at the world around me.
The hallway seemed deserted, likely because it was still class hours. I couldn't help but voice my thoughts. "Do you have any idea where we're headed, mhie?" I questioned as I trailed behind her.
"Yes, Klean," she responded curtly, maintaining her brisk pace. I couldn't help but feel like a loyal puppy following her lead. But hey, if I had to be a dog, I'd be the handsomest one around.
"Klean, stop entertaining those random thoughts," Sean's voice chimed in.
"Sorry, mhie, but they just keep coming," I replied with a sheepish grin, but she just snorted hearing it. "Mhie, have you been to this place before?" I couldn't resist asking, noticing her familiarity with the layout.
Her silence lingered for a few moments before she finally replied, "No."
I decided to just nod my head despite being curious since it’s better not to press the issue; she had an uncanny ability to be intimidating when she wanted to be, and I preferred not to test those waters.
As we ventured deeper into the labyrinthine corridors of the mysterious academy, our footsteps echoing, Sean and I finally came to a halt at a door adorned with a polished bronze plate that read 'Headmistress’s Office' in intricate script. With a hint of uncertainty, Sean rapped on the door.
"Come in, it's open!" came a voice from within, beckoning us forth. We pushed the door gently, revealing a room bathed in soft, ethereal light. At the center stood a striking figure, a girl whose wavy black hair cascaded like a waterfall down her back, and her eyes, an otherworldly shade of violet, seemed to hold secrets untold.
"Good day, are you the new students?" she inquired, her lips curving into an inviting smile that held both warmth and intrigue. Sean and I exchanged a brief glance, then nodded in unison.
"Indeed, we are," I responded, my voice steady but tinged with awe. Her presence was nothing short of formidable, a captivating enigma that left me feeling both excited and slightly uneasy.
"Very well then. What are your names?" she asked, her gaze never leaving ours.
"I'm Gian Klein Ashton," I began, introducing myself with a confident smile, "and this is my companion, Sean Renyiel Stanford. We're both seventeen."
With a graceful nod, she acknowledged our introductions. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am HM Andrea," she declared, her name carrying a weight of authority that was impossible to ignore. She reached for a stack of papers on her desk and handed them to us.
Curiosity piqued, and I couldn't help but inquire, "What's all this?"
"That, dear Gian, is your schedule, a map of our illustrious institution, and, naturally, your keys to your new abode," she responded, her eyes glittering with an almost mischievous glint as she presented the dorm keys.
I couldn't help but be taken aback. HM Andrea, the headmistress herself, had greeted us at the door. Her appearance initially disguised her true identity. The academy held even more mysteries than I had anticipated.
Amused by our astonishment, HM Andrea leaned back in her chair and chuckled warmly. "Yes, it seems I'm not what you expected. You're not the first new students to think I was just another scholar here."
Sean, his eyes still closed, chimed in with a serene smile, "She's quite adept at reading minds, Klein."
My cheeks flushed, realizing the inadvertent transparency of my thoughts. "I... I apologize if that seemed impolite."
With a gentle laugh, HM Andrea waved off my concern. "No need for apologies. I'll take it as a compliment."
Feeling slightly embarrassed but also intrigued, I shifted the conversation. "We heard someone else arrive just before us. It's a shame we missed meeting her."
The headmistress offered a reassuring smile. "Don't worry; you may cross paths with her in class. Our academy has a way of bringing people together when the time is right."
The anticipation was palpable as the door swung open, revealing a girl with striking cerulean hair cascading down her back. "Good day, HM," she said with a graceful bow, her presence immediately commanding attention.
She was a vision of ethereal beauty, an intriguing blend of youthful innocence and statuesque grace, her fair complexion enhancing her enigmatic aura. The academy uniform clung to her figure effortlessly, leaving everyone in the room captivated by her allure. I couldn't help but wonder what extraordinary power hid beneath her demure exterior.
"I'm a water user, and thanks for the compliment," she declared, her voice sweet as a serenade, accompanied by a beaming smile that could melt glaciers. A bead of sweat formed on my brow; did she somehow just read my thoughts? Mortifying! I hastily retreated behind Sean, my face aflame with embarrassment, while HM and the enigmatic girl shared a melodic laughter.
"What are you doing, Klean? That's why, tsk. Block your mind so they can't enter," Sean chided me with a hint of exasperation.
"But, mhie, I don't know how," I protested, pouting like an embarrassed child.
"Just imagine that your mind has barriers," he instructed. I followed his counsel, willing my thoughts to remain locked away.
"Can you still read my mind?" I stammered, addressing both the girl and HM.
"No!" the girl replied, her radiant smile unfazed by my inner turmoil. She was genuinely enchanting.
"Uh, Gian and Sean, this is Princess Lianna Claire Waterian. She's a water user and, evidently, the princess of the water kingdom. She will be your guide to your dormitory," HM announced. My jaw practically hit the floor. Was she a princess?
"Oh, you're a princess? It suits you," I managed to utter, a bashful grin tugging at my lips.
"Thank you. So, what is your magic?" Princess Lianna inquired, her curiosity unwavering.
"I'm a light user, and she is..." Before I could spill the beans about Sean's powers, a mysterious voice echoed in my mind, cautioning me not to reveal her abilities.
"Sorry, she prefers to keep it a secret," I hastily interjected, trying to hide the unease in my voice.
"Oh, okay. I'm excited!" she exclaimed, her enthusiasm infectious as she bounced on her toes. What was the cause of this sudden burst of excitement?
"Um, why?" I ventured, eager to unravel the mystery.
"Just because we're adding more people. But wait, why is she closing her eyes?" Princess Lianna puzzled over Sean, who still had his eyes shut. It was an enigma to me as well.
"Mhie, why are you closing your eyes?" I prodded her gently.
"They shouldn't see my eyes, Klean," Sean's voice reverberated in my thoughts. Wait, could it really be Sean speaking to me telepathically?
"Mhie, I have contact lenses here; do you want them?" I offered, my mind buzzing with questions.
"Give them to me later, but for now, tell them it's my habit to keep my eyes closed, so that's what I'm doing," he instructed, and I obediently complied.
"Oh, um, it's just a quirky habit. I totally forgot to mention it," I stammered, scratching my head, praying that I hadn't developed lice overnight. My thoughts took a detour into the bizarre as I panicked. Eww, why was I even thinking about lice at a time like this?
"Alright, come on, let's go. I'll take you to your dorm, but before that, welcome to SR. Heaven Academy, guys!" Princess Lianna exclaimed, her joy palpable. Sean and I exchanged smiles, our minds brimming with excitement and curiosity as we embarked on this remarkable journey into the unknown.
As we bid farewell to the enigmatic Headmistress Andrea, a surge of excitement coursed through my veins. Lian took the lead, guiding us through the labyrinthine corridors, while Sean continued her bizarre feat of navigating with her eyes firmly shut. It was mind-boggling—the way she effortlessly charted our course despite the visual handicap. It left me awestruck.
"The girls' and boys' dorms are intentionally separated; you know, strictly prohibited," Lian remarked with a mischievous grin. The forbidden allure of the opposite gender's domain hung in the air, adding exhilarating tension to the atmosphere.
We stepped into a sleek elevator, and in a matter of minutes, we ascended to the upper levels of this mysterious institution. My curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't help but inquire, "Lian, when do we receive our IDs?"
"After the leveling assessment, Gian, it's also where they'll determine your section, dorm assignment, and unique strength level," she replied cryptically, her eyes gleaming with secrets.
We continued our journey until we reached the entrance of the boys' dormitory. "This is your dorm, Klean. Feel free to enter," Sean announced. Both Lian and I exchanged bewildered glances. How on earth did she know my room?
"Don't bother asking," Sean chimed in, her enigmatic aura only deepening.
My sense of privacy felt invaded, a disconcerting feeling coursing through me. I couldn't help but protest, "Come on, Mhie. Can I please have some privacy?"
"Awahhh! You're just too adorable!" Lian exclaimed, her words sending warmth flooding to my cheeks. It was unsettling, the way her words painted me in such an effeminate light.
"Fine, fine. Just get inside already." Sean relented and gave me a gentle shove. Thankfully, my rugged visage didn't collide with any furniture.
Lian offered a reassuring smile as she said, "We're off, Gian. Don't fret; your dormmates are friendly." With that, they departed, leaving me alone with the anticipation of what awaited behind that door.
As I steeled myself and pushed open the dorm entrance, my eyes were greeted by a guy lounging on the couch and another reclining on a bed. The adventure had only just begun.
As I entered our dorm, the atmosphere seemed to crackle with anticipation. My two roommates, Leo and Alvin, sprang to their feet as if they'd been waiting for something exciting to happen. To my surprise, it turned out they were genuinely nice guys. They greeted me with warm smiles and introduced themselves, eager to get to know their new magical companion.
With a friendly exchange of names, we embarked on a journey of discovery. It was a fascinating revelation that each of us possessed unique and extraordinary powers. Leo, the rugged metal manipulator, had a stoic demeanor that hinted at his mastery over cold, unyielding materials. Alvin, on the other hand, was the life of the room, a music manipulator whose vibrant energy resonated through his very being.
