Chapter 2. Andrea Russo's POV

1153 Words
*Andrea (Andi) Russo's View. I arrived at my Mom and Dad's Bed and Breakfast just shy of midnight. I grabbed out my key and let myself out to the cabin after seeing it wasn't going to be booked for a while, knowing I'd have the peace and quiet I so desperately needed right now. I just got back from a trip to Italy this week. I was able to take care of business and am satisfied with that side of things. My personal life, however, leaves a lot to be desired. While in Italy, my “boyfriend”, who accompanied me, decided to let me know that things were not working out. Halfway through our two-week trip. At first, I was absolutely heartbroken. That turned to anger when I overheard him talking to a female on the phone later that night. Basically, it was a "yeah, I broke up with her. I'm yours now" kind of conversation. I was done. I packed his stuff that night and had his bags, plus a plane ticket, ready for him by the door. He didn't even say anything as he walked out the door. I pretty much drank myself to oblivion that night in my suite. Three and half years down the drain. I gave him everything. I even paid for his new BMW that he wanted. I made sure that was gone and sold before buying his ticket. He'll understand that when he receives my bill of damages after he returns home. Home. Thank God I had the good sense to not let him move in with me last month. I'd really be up Schitt's creek if I had. There's something about my Mom and Dad's place that just brings me back to peace. Even with the guests. It's so peaceful. There are trails for hiking and four wheeling all over. A beautiful waterfall for jumping from, and wildflowers that are out of this world in beauty! I think a couple weeks here will do the trick! The next morning I wake up to the sun shining through the curtains and go shower and dress. Throwing on my most comfortable pair of jeans and my favorite Queen shirt, I head out the door towards the main house for breakfast. I know Momma will have plenty to choose from. She's an amazing cook! When my brother and I moved out for our schooling, they bought the bed and breakfast for something to do. I tease my Mom and tell her it's because she doesn't know how to NOT cook for an army. They've done amazing things with this place though. I’m so proud of them! I walk into the dining room and hear my Momma practically scream "AHH! MY LOVE! When did you get here!?" I laughed and threw my arms around her. "Morning, Momma! I got in last night and let myself in. How are you?" We have some small talk before my Mom comments on my small waist and tells me to eat. I used to be a lot heavier. I’m comfortable with where I'm at now. I know my Momma would prefer if I had more "meat to my bones"! I start to make a bagel when I'm suddenly picked up and spun through the air. Knowing those arms and his smell, I know it's my brother Mark and can't help laughing. Even after dropping my bagel. He sets me down and starts asking questions as fast as he appeared. I can't help but feel the eyes watching me from behind. Weird. I take my plate of new food over to the table as my brother heads back out to help my Sister-in-law grab their 3 girls. Cloey, Annabelle, and Madalynn. I love those girls so much! I barely have time to set my plate on the table and digest the beautiful brown eyes watching me, when I'm attacked with the cutest little arms an aunt could ask for, around the waist. Did I mention that I love them? Soon everyone else joins us at the table and we sit down to eat. We chit chat about our life's and the girl's schedules. And then Emily, my SIL, asks me how my trip was. Ughhh. That dreaded question I knew was coming. I can feel myself scrunching my nose. I tell her it was alright hoping that would be the end of it. It was not. Out of nowhere, Mr. Deep dark Brown eyes asks me where I had gone. I’m more than certain I had that deer in the headlights look as I take in this gorgeous man. He has dark hair that is longer and styled over on top. Clean cut short on the sides. A thick, beautiful, well-kept beard that I just want to run my fingers through as he's on top of me. Whoa! Where'd that come from!? He's sitting down but his upper body is something to drool over in his plain, but clean black t shirt. Suddenly I feel under dressed here at the table. I try to regain myself quickly and manage to stammer out "Sardinia, Italy. My company sent me there for business. " Mark chuckles "Yeah...YOUR company! Wouldn't that be YOU sent yourself there?" "Technically yes...but for my company " I retort, throwing a piece of bagel at him trying to get him to shut up. I don't like having my business out there for everyone to know. Makes it easier for people to assume you'll just help them. "How was it, my love?" Momma asks. "It was alright, Momma. I didn't really get out a lot as I was there to do business". I know what she's waiting for. She wants to know if David proposed to me. "How does one go to Italy and not get out to enjoy it? My love, you need to make more time for yourself!" She says. I cringe and go "I'm aware, Mother". Before she can say anything else, I jump up and start cleaning the empty plates. As I put them in the sink, I hear my Mom yell "Leave those there! You're supposed to be enjoying yourself!" I smile at Mr. Brown eyes, grab Cloey and head out the door for a hike. We go hiking down some of the garden trails collecting wildflowers until I can compose myself to talk to Momma about David. Cloey and I start telling jokes and just letting loose. We start heading back to the house with the bouquet in her hands. She runs into the house laughing as I come around the corner and see Mr. Brown eyes sitting back on the porch swing with his eyes closed. His long, very strong looking legs stretched out in front of him. My stomach flutters as I realize he's smiling at me. I smile back and run inside. Geezus, Andi. Get a hold of yourself, girl. It's only been two weeks!
