THE TROUBLE WITH RULES
Huldar’s legs stumbled at the limit of endurance as they labored through slush. Exhausted by his ordeal in the heart of the planet, and with Andel supporting him so closely, it made sense to let Daric sing them through the portals. There was a difference in style but the steps were confidently read and pitch perfect.
Huldar’s relief at the sight of their marquee was difficult to hide, but after a short way he paused. Something was different. Then he noticed a broad trail in the melting snow and a screen set to cover the mouth of a nearby gully.
“Are you all right?” Andel murmured.
“Of course,” he answered.
