******************* A small child about Sansa 's age could be seen yelling "Sansa !" and sprinting in her direction on the opposite side of the street. She turned her head up in anticipation of hearing her best buddy Devin calling her name and approaching her. When she heard Devin 's voice as she was about to cross the street on her way back from enrolling her sister in school, she chose to wait for him to reach her. Devin eventually approached her, breathing furiously, and grinned. Sansa gave him a one-sided hug and remarked, "Do you have to run all the way here and how did you even see me from afar?" She rolled her eyes at his statements, "Even though there are 10,000 people here, I will still be able to spot you in the blink of an eye." He said while struggling to breathe. Devin inquired, gazing at her, "By the way, where are you going to this early morning or are you coming back?" She replies, "I went to register Zoey in school," and he beams with joy. He said joyfully, "Really? My Zoey has started school? I'm so happy," and Sansa grinned. They both began to move towards her as she said, "Aren't you going to work today?" He responded, "I will go, but in the afternoon," and Sansa nodded. Devin attempted numerous times to assist her get a job but nothing seemed to work out. Devin works part-time in a coffee shop down the street. When he replied, "There's this new bar that was opened down the street, just come to the coffee shop later in the evening and we would go check if they are taking in people," she muttered, not wanting to hear about work again. She gave a tongue-clicking "Tsk, tsk" and tossed her face away. She doesn't want to discuss job or looking for work since she is aware of how challenging it may be for the poor to get employment in this region of the world. The wealthy continue to receive all cooperative labour, and even routine sales work requires connections to be obtained. Despite holding a first-class degree certificate, she has been moving from one company to another because she was unable to land an office job or even a sales position in any store. She eventually gave up looking for work because she had become weary of visiting various businesses. She murmured, "Forget it, Devin , it would still be the same old story they always say, I'm not interested in it," and Devin scowled and tapped her lightly on the arm. He pleaded, "Okay fine, just come to my office in the evening, please," and she moaned. However, she had intended to rest today, so she would only visit his job. It's unknown if she will steal any wallets while she's there. He kept begging with Sansa , "Come on, you won't even spend up to an hour, just to say hello and keep me company," until she agreed. When they reached a crossroads, they separated ways, and Sansa waved him off before heading home. When she arrived at their home, she saw her mother munching on some fruit on a small table outside. She took the fruit basket from her and began setting it. She told her mother, "Go in and rest for a while mama, I'll stay here for you till evening," and the woman thanked her before retiring to the house to unwind. After setting the fruits, Sansa remained in the shade and watched as a guy gave some children lunch across the street. As she watched the children try to cling onto a plastic bag, she sighed and shook her head. She could recall visiting places like this with her father back when he was still living. They would give food and money to the less fortunate, and she never imagined that one day she would live here and make a living by robbing people of their money. She remained in her mother's shade and sold the fruits to children and women who occasionally came to buy other goods. **** She is travelling to Devin 's business at night. She crossed the room, crossed the street and then turned onto the pavement that led to the coffee shop. She went to the wine bar Devin was referring to. It was gorgeous and brand-new. She knows she won't get the job, so she doesn't want to go there and ruin her mood. Either they would take her number and pledge to call her back, or they would no longer be seeking employees. When she returned, they would tell her that she had arrived late or wasn't qualified for the position after a week or month of waiting for a call from them. She sighed, turned her head away from the new bar, and continued walking till she arrived at Devin 's place of employment. She entered the coffee shop by pushing open the door and looking around the space. She observed the customers in the store to see whether anyone was stowing their belongings recklessly, but it appeared that everyone was being cautious to avoid setting their bag down on the table. Devin waved and said, "Hey Sansa , over here," and she grinned a little before approaching him. He said, beaming broadly, "I didn't know you would come," and poured coffee for a client. Sansa snorted mockingly, "Yeah I did come, I didn't want you to cry," as she continued to scan the crowded store. She asked Devin , "Do you need help?" She can begin by providing service and then examine the clients carefully to see if she can make any gains. Devin motioned to the pair in question while Sansa nodded, focusing on them as they pretended to be in love while neglecting their surroundings. While leaning over the man, laughing out loud and speaking into his ear, the lady's bag was on the table. Sansa took the tray and quickly made her way to the table, murmuring, "Okay, I'll do that." She waved for her to drop it and said, "Your coffee, ma'am," but the other woman spoke into her partner's ear without seeming alarmed. When she noticed that everyone was preoccupied with their tasks, Sansa knelt down, dropped the coffee and quickly reached into the woman's bag, pulled out her wallet and tucked it away in her trousers pocket. She then quickly stood back up and strode back to the counter to face Devin 's stern gaze. Devin glared at Sansa and said, "I saw that, do you have to do that in my workplace?" Devin scowled as Sansa whispered, "You don't expect me not to, I need to eat and that lady doesn't need it, she looked rich." He is aware that she had a family to support and that she needed to eat, but stealing wasn't her only option. He had attempted to persuade her otherwise, but she was unreceptive and said that she needed the money more than the business did. You never know, someone might be watching you while you do that, he continued, increasing his scowl. "What if you get caught, Sansa ?" What do you think I'm good for?Sansa mumbled, staring at him, "A kid? Come on, I'm so smart at what I do, don't drag it, sign out and let's get out of here." Devin entered the building to sign out after looking at his watch and noting that it was already his off hour. They both left the coffee shop after his return and made their way home. When they arrived at the brand-new wine bar, Devin forced Sansa to stop. Devin remarked, "I really don't like the fact that you pickpocket, it annoys me. Come on let's just try this one Sansa , you never can tell and they might just pick you." Sansa scoffed but still followed him inside. They entered the wine bar, which was incredibly lovely and didn't resemble anything they had seen in the shantytowns. The tables and chairs were organised in a tidy manner, and the decor was lovely. Devin approached a young woman who was clearly a waitress and said, "Hey please can we talk to you?" She greeted him while appearing hurried to assist other clients, asking, "Yeah, what do you want?" Devin asked, "We want to know if there's any vacancy here," and the girl simply pointed at the counter before quickly leaving. "Bruh, I don't like this, can't we just get out of here and forget about this work thing, I know it would still be the old talk"Sansa mumbled in anger. We would test it out first before making a decision, and since we are already inside, let's head over to the counter the girl pointed at, Devin said, grabbing her hands and dragging her in that direction. A plus-sized woman at the desk questioned them, staring at them from under her enormous glasses, "Yes, how may I help you both?" Devin added, "We came to ask if this pub still employs people, and the woman gave us a long look before clearing her throat. She questioned, "Who among you is looking for a job?," and Devin pointed at the unconcerned Sansa who was busy examining the bar and seeking a prey.
