Chapter 20: Problematic
{K. M}
Klaus barged into Dakota's hotel and gathered up her clothes off the bed and placed them haphazardly in her traveling bag. "Gloria's gone, she cleared out. We need to find a new witch immediately."
Dakota sat on the stiff mattress, staring blankly ahead. "I need to tell you something, it's important."
He stopped for a second, taking in her eyes that were slightly puffy and rimmed with red. "What's going on?"
Dakota shook her head. "Elena's not dead. Before I left with you I helped Elijah give her an elixir to keep her alive after you performed the ritual. She's not dead, which is why your hybrids aren't turning."
"You knew entire time and you tell me now, why?"
"I don't feel like lying to you anymore, the second they showed me that Shawn was still alive, I lost all desire to help keep Elena safe. It's not my responsibility anymore." Dakota picked at the fabric in the sheets. "What could I possibly loose?"
Klaus examined the woman before him, regretting what he had to do before he even did it. "A lot, actually." He sped over and snapped her neck, catching her body before she fell on the ground. He lifted her body, carrying out to the car.
"Where are we going?" Rebekah complains. "What happened to her?"
"Time to return to Mystic Falls, little sister. I need a witch and I know just the one to use."

Dakota woke with a loud gasp. "About time. Nik was growing worried that you would never wake up." Rebekah crossed her arms over her chest.
"I purposefully neglected to tell Klaus why his hybrids weren't turning, and in return he was worried that I wouldn't wake up?" The brunette wondered aloud, confusion clear in her tone.
The original vampire rolled her blue eyes. "Wether you realize it or not, my egotistical, ass of a brother loves you. He'd always worry about you no matter what you did because he is in love with you."
Dakota stood there staring into Rebekah's eyes trying to comprehend the words that had just fallen from her lips. "Where is he?"
"My brother is out looking for that cow of a doppelgänger. Maybe this time she'll stay dead."
As the blonde talked, Dakota realized why they were in Mystic Falls in the first place, and it wasn't to kill Elena,he's going to get another witch. "He's going to use Bonnie," Dakota realized, standing up quickly. "For the spell, he's going to use Bonnie to find the necklace."
"Why would you care?"
"Wouldn't you like to know? Now, as much as fun as I'm having talking to you about this, I really need to go."
Dakota prepared herself to fight the older vampire, but was surprised when Rebekah just let her go. "Better run quickly, my brother is known for his impulsive decisions."
Acknowledging the warning, Dakota ran to the school using her enhanced speed. As she got it, she paused momentarily to listen where the voices were coming from. "About time you showed up, I was growing worried love."
Klaus grinned at Dakota as she cautiously walked into the gym, but he remained by Bonnie's side. "What are you doing?"
"Seeing as Bonnie is the reason why Elena is alive, I decided to take matters into my own hands yet again, to get what I want." Klaus ran a finger over Bonnie's cheek. "You've created a problem, so you're going to fix it."
Unexpectedly, Rebekah Mikaelson barged into the gym with Tyler Lockwood in her tight grip as she forced him to move closer to her brother. "Found this hot piece of werewolf ass outside, I want to keep him Nik, so make sure he survives."
Everyone in the gym, Elena, Matt, and Bonnie stared at Rebekah in confusion at the blonde bombshell. "That's Rebekah, my sister. Word of warning, watch your tongues she can be quite mean."
"Don't be an ass."
Tyler was pushed into Klaus' arms, "I'm going to make this very simple. Every time I attempt to create a hybrid, they don't finish the transition. Instead they die painfully, lots of blood, and it's not a very pretty sight."
"It's disgusting." Dakota muttered under her breath as she recalled how all of the failed hybrids cried the red liquid, it leaving grotesque trails down their faces that even Dakota couldn't find pleasure in watching.
"I need you to use your magic to save my hybrid Bonnie, and for Tyler's sake," Klaus bit into his wrist and forcefully fed Tyler his blood. "—you better hurry."
The werewolf—soon to be hybrids body fell limply to the ground. "Y-you killed him!" Elena stammered, kneeling down to examine Tyler's dead body.
Dakota walked over, poking the fallen teenager with the tip of her toe gaining a chuckle from Rebekah. "Go fetch your grimrores Bon-Bon. Hybrid d**k over there is on a killing spree and I'd rather you not be apart of it." Bonnie followed Dakotas suggestion, taking Matt and rushing out of the gym.
Dakota wasn't sure how much time had passed since Bonnie had left, but she had taken her place on the bleachers, laying down comfortably as she watched Rebekah taunt the brunette that seemed to have every guy in town pining over her. "So you're the latest doppelgänger." The blonde walked around Elena, picking out every imperfection on her. "The original one was much prettier."
Klaus rolled his eye at his sister. "Enough Rebekah, just take the wolf-boy elsewhere. I need to speak with Dakota."
Rebekah pursed her naturally plump lips and dragged Tyler out of the gym by his arm. "What exactly do we need to talk about? I'm a bit tired and I'd rather you didn't interrupt my beauty sleep."
"I don't really care, you've angered me. I trusted you Dakota, which isn't very easy to do. But you had it, sweetheart." Hurt was clear in the hybrids blue eyes but he didn't seem to have been trying to hide it in the first place. "I bet, that if I gave you the chance you'd betray me again and get Elena to safety would you?"
Said doppelgänger looked towards us, growing curious at the tension that flowed between Dakota and the hybrid. "No, I wouldn't actually. I've paid my dues with her and I owe nothing to her." Dakota sighed, roughly shoving her hair behind her ear. "I'm sorry for lying to you. I want to ask for your forgiveness."
Klaus stared at the vampire before him, a product of a bloodline making her nothing but some diluted offspring. She was nothing compared to his royal status, but she shined brightly like that brightest diamond yet held the danger of the sharpest blade. "Fine, lets drink on it." Two teenagers, a boy and a girl stood up from the center of the gyms "I want you to kill them."
Dakota didn't struggle, but she could hear Stefan holding Elena, urging her not to look. She went after the boy first, not bothering to compel them, she wanted to hear them scream. Dakota savored the vital liquid that kept him alive, but she didn't want it too. She wanted to feel him slowly get heavier and heavier in her arms before she had her fill and let him body fall limply to the ground.
Dakota moved onto the next one, Dana, Klaus said her name was. Her large brown eyes stared at Dakota in fear, her irises darting to take in the blood that coated itself on Dakotas mouth. Her fangs were sharp and poked out of her mouth, the veins beneath her eyes contrasted against her tanned skin. "Run."
On instinct, Dana ran, and Dakota didn't follow her. "What is she doing?" Elena whispered.
Instead of being surprised, Klaus smirked. "Dakota likes to play with her food."
