Chapter 6: Bennett Blood {D.K} "It's been a while since I've last seen you Katerina." She was walking backwards, her dirty hands running against the rocks to get away further. "I killed you." Dakota laughed, standing to slowly follow her as she feebly tried to escape. "Obviously not. But don't worry, I'm not mad." Katherine had her brown eyes trained on the much older vampire, caution clear in them. "What do you want with me?" "Nothing. Nothing at all. We already have the moonstone, and in less than twelve hours we'll have another vampire doppelgänger." Katherine's stance straightened in interest. "You don't like her either?" "I can't stand the little nuisance." Dakota spat, crossing her arms over her chest. "She's a troublemaker." "So how about when your witch comes back to break the wall, we get out and kill her." Dakota's plucked eyebrows furrowed, her expression full of disbelief. "You're so desperate. I'm not helping you kill her. I'm not even going to kill her, at least not yet." "Well what about me?" "What about you? When I get out of here, you're going to stay in this tomb and spend a decade or two rethinking what you could've done right." She pouted, crossing her arms. "I could've ripped your head off." A sadistic smile took over Dakota face. "You couldn't get your hands around my neck even in your kinkiest of dreams." From her jean pocket, the pphone buzzed and she was quick to check the message. From: Witch Bitch I'm coming now. Is Katherine down? Dakota glanced back up at the Petrova, her brown eyes shimmering with desperation and selfishness. "We've had a nice talk Katherine. But I can't listen to your lies for another second." "What do you—" Before she could finish, Dakota used her enhanced speed and broke her neck. To: Witch Bitch The psychopath that started all of our problems has been taken care of. The soft sound of feet crunching over dirt was sounded before the chocolate skinned girl walked in, an unamused look on her face. "You killed her?" Peeking back at the unconscious vampire, Dakota shrugged. "Technically, she was already dead." For a few minutes the only sound in the tomb was Bonnie's chanting as she recited the spell that she was reading from her grams' grimrore. Soon, Bonnie's nose began bleeding and it was then that Dakota knew she wasn't ready yet. Dakota closed her eyes and whispered quietly. "I need your help." The witches that she had aided over the generations were immediate with their response, gently budging Bonnie with their wrinkled fingers, helping her along the spell. The thick Latin soon stop falling from the Bennett witches lips, and Dakota walked out of the tomb. In seconds, Katherine was up and ready to run out of the cave, but the second her body went to move out, it was repelled back by the barrier. "It's a shame Katherine," Dakota shook her head, truly sorry for the woman forever stuck at age eighteen. "You have so much potential." Katherine snarled at her, the veins protruding from under her eyes. "When I get out of here, I'm going to kill you." "I'll be waiting." Dakota turned her back to the doppelgänger, making her way out of the tomb, before turning her head to taunt the Elena look-a-like. "And this time, make sure you do the job efficiently. Your last attempt was so pathetic, I nearly wanted to help you." Ignoring Katherine's hiss, Dakota walked out of the tomb freely, making sure that Bonnie was standing in front of her. As annoying as the entire clan was, she was a witch, one apart of a strong bloodline too and the vow Dakota took was to protect the witches of the Bennett blood. "What happened back there?" "Just giving Katherine some motivation. I've been quite bored and needed some fun. By now, she's racking her brain on ways to get out and kill me." Bonnie shook her head, tucking some of her curled hair behind her ear. "No, with the spell. I didn't have enough magic, I stopped doing the spell, but it still worked." The ever so slight throb of pain in Dakota's skull that was caused by no other than the witches as a warning not to tell Bonnie yet. "Sorry little witch, I'm not quite sure what you're talking about." Bonnie opened her mouth to argue, but Dakota wasn't really in the mood. "Let's go. Elena is bound to have been in some trouble by now." "Elena isn't just some damsel in distress. She can take care of herself!" Dakota raised a thin brow. "Really? That's why when Klaus comes, she's going to sacrifice herself in a ritual without a fight. That's not taking care of herself Bonnie, that's being irrational and selfish." "How the hell is that selfish?" She scoffed, smacking her palms on her jean clad thighs. "Because she has a family! A brother, an aunt who cares about her. Parents that risked their lives to make sure that she survived. Her father could've had Stefan save him and get Elena, but he didn't. He died to keep her alive, and if she kills herself, which she would be doing if she just hands herself over to Klaus, then his death would be in vain." Dakota couldn't help the burning rage that plagued her body as she yelled at the witch. The anger itself wasn't even directed towards her, it was mostly just Dakota venting how she felt about the situation, and why she didn't like Elena. "Why do you even care? Your family been dead for who-knows-how-long. Why should you care about hers?" "Because I did what she's going to do." Bonnie rested her body of her car door, arms crossed and cushioning her head. "What do you mean?" Sighing, Dakota ran her nimble fingers through her hair that needed a good washing. "I'm nine hundred and sixty two years old. I was turned when I was twenty. I was courting this guy, his name was Kol. He had a bit of an anger issue, but I didn't care. I loved him and that was all that mattered. We dated for a while and against our parents wishes we had sex." The blush that took over her face was faint, but Dakota could hear her heartbeat speed up in embarrassment. "So you got knocked up?" Laughing at her words, Dakota denied her claim. "No. Even as a human, I couldn't have children. But, as we were doing the deed, Kol accidentally bit my lip a little too hard and I started bleeding. At first, I was just going to clean it up and shrug it off, but how he watched it. The blood. He watched it peek out of my skin, and trickle down my chin, he looked so grotesquely infatuated with it that I got scared and tried to leave. Apparently, running away from him wasn't a good idea, because he made it to me in record time. I tried to scream but he compelled me not to. I asked him if he was going to hurt me, he promised he wouldn't but a part of me knew that he didn't even know what he was doing or what he would do. He started drinking from my neck, and I could feel my life draining from out of me." "I don't see how that had anything to do with what Elena is doing." "Because that wasn't the first time Kol had done that. I just was too stupid to leave him, and for that I got my family killed." Dakota paused, turning away from her to blink away the tears. "My mom died when I was seventeen, I didn't take it well but I had a father that was heartbroken and a brother that was too young to understand why his mother wasn't home to tuck him in anymore. In my own selfishness, I let Kol come over our home, he promised to be quiet so I wouldn't get in trouble, but he said he needed more blood, that he wasn't getting full on anyone else except me." "You let him? Like let him while your family was in the next room?" Dakota laughed, but it was bitter and not for humor. "I know, stupid, but he stopped before he could kill anyone else thankfully." "How can you cope with yourself." Bonnie didn't seem to have much remorse tonight, most likely because Dakota wouldn't tell her the truth about the spell. "Lots and lots of alcohol." She pinched up her face in disgust. "That's unhealthy." "I'm a vampire. I'm always healthy." Bonnie moved off the car door and opened it. "Maybe physically, but every vampire that I've met so far has been so screwed up in the head it's unreal." She got in the car and sat in the seat, waiting for Dakota to get in along with her. "You couldn't be more right, little witch."
