He transformed into a werewolf and leaped away. "Aaron, wait!" Juan called out to him and tried to run after him, but within seconds, she couldn't catch a glimpse of him anymore. Then, she sorrowfully dropped to her knees. She didn't know what to make of this day; it was undoubtedly her worst day. She had been bullied by her own sister just because she tried to save the person she loved. And on the same day, she had been rejected by the one she loved because she wanted her sister to be safe. She was being hated for trying to be kind to both of them, especially Alice. What had she done to deserve Aaron's hate? She only wanted her sister to be safe, just as anyone else would go to any length to protect their siblings. • Later That Night • The beautiful moon shone brightly over the elegant duplex, and the flowers and trees in the compound seemed to be smiling at the moon. Inside one of the rooms in the house, Alice sat with her book, reading and preparing for her upcoming exam. Although what had happened today was a real distraction to her, as her mind kept dwelling on it. After a few more seconds, she received a knock on her door. "Who's there?" She asked as she stood up from the chair and headed straight to the door, knowing very well that it must be Juan. And indeed, it was Juan when she opened the door, but she attempted to close it back, knowing very well what Juan must have come to talk about. "Alice, wait. We need to talk," Juan said, stopping Alice from closing the door. Alice silently took a deep breath and looked at Juan. "Talk! What is it?" Alice said as she folded her arms. "Can I at least come in, please? There's something you need to know," Juan requested. "And what happens if you let me know about it here?" Alice requested. Juan took in a deep breath as she decided to give in; she didn't want to waste time arguing with Alice. "Alice... it's about Aaron. Please, you need to give me some time to work on him. He will get better very soon. Sometimes he doesn't know what he is doing," Juan said, taking in a deep breath. "He is always out of control when he transforms into a werewolf," she added, awaiting Alice's response. "That's why he killed those guys! His wolf is the one controlling him. Although he warned me that his transformation might be dangerous, but of course, I can't watch you die," Juan said, trying hard to hold back her tears. "Juan, what matters is that he is the monster! The hunted and dangerous werewolf!" Alice responded as she held the door handle. "He is a monster and shouldn't be among us!" Alice said loudly, widening her hands, making things complicated for Juan, who was looking at her with a frustrated expression. "Living with him in this same roof is dangerous too! I just hope that you didn't come back home with him!" Alice said, heading towards Juan's room just to make sure that Aaron don't stay in that house. "Don't stress yourself looking for him!" Juan shouted at her as she halted. "Congratulations, though. You have finally made him homeless... he knew you would act this way, so he didn't return," Juan added. "Thank goodness! I can now at least have peace of mind!" Alice said, breathing out a sigh of relief and returning to her room. Juan joined her inside. "Alice, I hope you know that he is an orphan too! How can you not sympathize?" Juan said to her. "That still doesn't matter. He is a monster, that's the only thing that matters to me! He has to stay far away from us!" Alice said, still determined with her words. "Alice"? Juan called out in disbelief, her facial expression looking pitiful. "What...? And please note that I meant every bit of my words. I'm sorry if that action will hurt you, but I will expose him to the hunters. In fact, he has to die! He is a monster, for God's sake," Alice said, still not changing her mind towards Aaron. Then Juan swallowed hard and silently left her room with so much sorrow. As soon as she was stepping out of the room, Alice shut the door behind her. Then she paused and gazed silently at the door. "I don't understand why she would be so wicked to someone that saved her life. I wonder if she remembers that she's still not safe from those intruders coming after her alive," Juan muttered then walked away. "I hope they don't come after her anymore. If they do, I will swear to let her beg for help by herself this time around," she added and left for her room. She didn't want to put too much pressure on Alice this night, just for peace to reign. After all, it's still her duty to keep her safe; she's still her only surviving blood left on earth. So, getting to her room, she was supposed to start reading, but she couldn't. She sat on the bed, gazing at the LED light inside the room. She could remember very much her mother's last statement before she passed away that night. She was warned to always look after Alice no matter what. That's why she's just being careful not to do anything that would betray her mother's advice. But the height of wickedness Alice is showing to Aaron is just overwhelming to be overlooked. Aaron is a human too and also needs to be helped. They met him homeless, which has proven it all that he's an orphan too. With all these thoughts going through Juan's mind, she couldn't read, but switched off her light and lay on the bed. Of course, she can't sleep without Aaron besides her, let alone knowing that he is out there looking for a place to stay. However, after just a few seconds of her laying on her bed, she heard a noise outside her window. She ignored it at first, but it repeated again. Then she opened her window and checked, but found nothing. Instead, the noise moved behind her door. "Who's there...? Alice, is that you? Aaron?" she asked, fear consuming her, knowing that it might be those guys hunting Alice. She gently approached her door, and just as she opened it, a g*n was pointed at her head. "Oh my gosh...!! Alice, here they come!" Juan screamed loudly.
