Tom jumped out of the car and sprinted to the front door of his home. Neither Paul nor Henry reacted fast enough to stop him. Some of the officers drew and aimed at him as he ran but then realised who he was.
The front door opened, and a silencer beckoned him in. The door closed behind him. A g*n was pushed into his back and he was jostled forward. There was a splattering of blood on the carpet. Tom felt his knees buckle. Somewhere in the house nursery rhymes were playing. On the TV screen Brittany Spears was singing Just Like a Circus.
