Tom grabbed Angela in one arm and sprinted towards Vic.
“What the hell’s happening?” he yelled.
The man in the Akubra put his palms up and outwards, as if surrendering.
Vic was sobbing. “I don’t know! I don’t know!”
“Tom, she’s had a fright,” said the man.
“Who the f**k are you? And what have you done to her?”
The man said nothing. He just took two paces back.
“Tom, she was standing right next to me. She was just here,” Vic motioned to an absent space, “and all of a sudden, she was just screaming! And I looked around and saw her being carried away by a man in a black suit, and I … I couldn’t see his face. Tom, all I could see is the back of him! And then this man appeared out of nowhere.
