Jethro's POV
“ You are too rude, Mr Davidson.”
The old man said, pointing a crumpled finger at me. I couldn't care less about the multitude of onlookers. He had crossed me wrongly. I had to let him realize whose turf he was on.
“Rude as in telling you about your wrong approach to me?”
I screamed back at him. I noticed his eyes twitched in disbelief. I guess he already had the pre-nomination that the Davidson he was coming to meet was a pushover. Yes, my brother is fond of giving that vibe to many lowlives like him.
Suddenly, I felt a hand jack me away. I staggered backward, startled. I had to control my body to avoid falling.
“I am so sorry, Mr Gregory, my sincere apology for our improper reception.”
I looked up to see Jarvis bowing slightly towards the old man, who froze in wonderment, his eyes kept traveling between Jarvis and mine.
“Wonderful!!” he said at last.
Even his mere voice irritates me. I was used to the surprise. Everybody knew our faces as the Davidson heir, but people barely knew we were two because our father did well to hide that fact.
Of course, one of us was incompetent and had to be hidden. Unfortunately,
That one is me!
“I heard the rumor at one point, but seeing you both, I think I know what Jake was thinking.”
The blow of his words hit me! What our father was thinking by being partial!
He threw me a disgusted shade, and it brought back memories of the different times I had to accompany my father to business dealings with brutes like Mr Gregory. I always tried to endure the pain of their boring blabber despite knowing I was only a replacement for Jarvis, who might not be able to attend for some reason.
Jarvis gave me a disdainful sideways look before leading them to the elevator that leads to his office. I stood there, like a nobody! A blatant i***t!
I watched as I got overlooked in my father's company. I turned slightly, and I noticed the mockery gazes the staff threw my way.
“What the hell are you all looking at!”
I growled loudly at them and watched each of them sink back to their duties. I felt belittled! I think I need to smoke right now, but I can't.
I had to pretend to belong in this corporate world, if I was going to share the credit of the company’s success with my greedy brother. I got into an elevator and pressed for it to take me back to Elsa's new office. Of course, I need someone to pick on,
To ease my sadness, my superiority had to take a stand.
And Elsa Williams was the perfect prey.
The elevator closed, and I was left totally alone to myself. I had to ruminate over the incident that had just transpired.
I was on my way out when I overheard a department manager talking about the incoming foreign investor. It was none of my concerns, I just needed to get myself some strong wine I was craving.
The moment I alighted from the elevator and locked gazes at Mr Gregory, I knew he was a big game and getting recognition from him could help elevate my competency in front of my father.
I made for his front and stretched my right hand forward to shake and welcome him, but he left it hanging in the air. I was livid, but I had to hold it in. He told his interpreter to relay to me that I should state my position in the company.
It happened again! The belittling!
I was starting to get pissed, but I impersonated my brother, claiming to be the acting CEO, but that further infuriated him, and he told his interpreter to tell me that I wasn't worth my claim.
He threw me a disgusted shade and I couldn't hold back my anger.
“Sly old fat geezer!” I muttered in an audible whisper, and he responded directly to me.
“That is so rude of you, Mr Davidson.”
I was taken aback for a split second, so the old fat geezer had been pretending all along, he could speak English clearly!
I could have given him a piece of my mind if Jarvis hadn't interrupted. I felt like a total i***t right there, but definitely, I am going to return the favor to him.

Primrose's POV
The CEO had looked at Elsa. I could tell he knew her! He had called her by her wretched name and I could swear she almost called his first name, but I couldn't be certain!
Elsa had rubbed wrongly on me since she was introduced to me earlier this morning. To my pleasure, I noticed the CEO’s brother treating her with the same disdain. I was happy, except that it baffled me! Why would he waste his precious time hating on a low-life girl from God knows which countryside?
“Miss Carris, I am done with the catalog, please look through it.”
Elsa stretched her hand forward and handed me a neat piece of paper. Even though her handwriting was graceful, I wasn't going to admit that.
I shoved it out of her hand and scrutinized it carefully, hoping to spot a mistake, but to my disappointment, it was all accurate. She is brilliant,
Another show-off!!!
“It is okay, I will pass it on to Mr Cooper later,” I said nonchalantly.
I couldn't allow her to take the credit on her first day at work. I knew everyone had been cheerful towards her all day. It seems her aim was to steal my spotlight. I wasn't going to allow that!
I watched her retire back to her seat when Mr Davidson walked in. For the first time in forever, I was elated to see him in my space. His resemblance to the man that holds my heart was a big shame. He was a total nut job, everyone knew that!
And that nut job hates the attention-seeking Elsa. Finally, we have something in common.
“Miss Williams, slouching on your first day at work is enough indication of your laziness.”
His words for the first time intrigued my hearing. I pretended to bury my head in a pile of files and watched the clumsy girl trying desperately to adjust her posture.
“Go get me some food at the cafeteria, put it on my tab.” I heard him say that to her.
I was overjoyed, he wasn't done with her yet.
“The break isn't until another twenty minutes… Mr Davidson.”
“Not just lazy, you are rude too. Elsa.” He threw her disdainful glare and I noticed her cower, before someone stepped in.
“With all due respect, Mr Davidson, she isn't one of the messengers, and lunch break isn't till another thirty minutes,”
“You can wait it out patiently and make your way to the cafeteria.”
Tension brewed in the room. I could feel the two men’s intense gazes locked on each other. I have always known Mr Cooper to only respect the company's founder alone. He was always fearless, even towards the Davidson twin.
This department was his turf and I knew he was going to protect it from that silly Jethro, but I wished it hadn't been to challenge him against that clumsy girl.
“Okay!”
What! Was Jethro giving in to defeat so fast?
I was totally disappointed!
Silence ensued between us all in the room. I threw a casual glance Mr Davidson's way. I couldn't help but scoff. The drug addict seemed to be scratching his wrist. I could tell he needed to get stoned.
“Miss Carris, is the catalog ready?”
I nodded my head in affirmation, and took out the paper to hand over to him. He glanced through it all. I noticed his eyes lit up with a smile.
“Elsa did this, didn't she?
I was astonished, his response was unexpected. I couldn't lie as I had foolishly forgotten to take into account her handwriting and how it would give out the truth.
“Yes Mr Cooper.“
I saw him give Elsa a thumbs up and it infuriated me.
Why is everyone treating her special like she mattered?
The lunch break came, and I excused myself from work as our colleagues did, but Elsa stayed glued to her seat and so did one other person,
Her greatest hater, Mr Davidson.
I was glad, but I had to feed my tummy so I couldn't wait to watch their charade. She took out her food basket to eat.
I was on my way to the cafeteria when I saw Jarvis, my CEO, walking out with an older man, and they were laughing. What baffled me was that I saw him handing over the exact food basket to the older man's aid.
I was confused, so I splintered back to the office in a bid to question the wench of who the hell she was when another surprising event graced my sight.
Elsa was sitting and munching o
n a sausage while Jethro had her food basket in his grasp, munching hungrily on it.
What the hell was going on with the trio?
