Chapter 13

956 Words
Ryan’s POV I woke up at midnight, staring at the ceiling. Dizzy as I was, I could tell I wasn’t in my room. Where am I? My heart raced and I got up, feeling an urge to get out of this place. Once I staggered outside the room, I saw Joy Morgan on the sofa and my feet were glued to the ground. I held my breath for a while and exhaled when I found my step sister has fallen asleep. Right at that moment, my memories flashed back, hitting me like a trolley car. I recalled how I stormed out of my house and went to the club with my Beta Cy, my Gamma Griffin and a friend of them. The guy has told me his name but I forgot it the second the bartender served us the drinks. Then a gap appeared in my memory, preventing me from remembering the rest. The only thing I knew was my friends called a taxi for me and I ended up in Joy Morgan’s apartment. To be more specific, sleeping on her bed. Hell, no. Did I accidentally screw her when I lost my consciousness? You could always see shitty stuff like this on TV. The interviewees usually consist of a crying woman who lost her virginity to a man with a guilty face. My panic grew as my imagination went wild. What if I did have a one-night-stand with her? Dad is gonna kill me. Or at least he would threaten to kill me. Ivy Danis would call me monster for f*****g her daughter and then ask for compensation. To stifle her anger dad will compromise and announce this b***h to be his Luna. She will happily take it, that’s for sure. But this won’t be the end. My pack members will never forgive me for sleeping with a human. They will refuse to pledge loyalty to me and I will be a lonely Alpha lacking respect and support. Maybe years later some feisty kids would conspire against me and I’d be kicked out and end up being a rogue… Suddenly Joy tilted her head and my mind stops reeling. I stole a glance at my step sister and let out a sigh of relief when I found she was in her nightgown. Properly dressed. That’s a relief. To further confirm nothing happened between us, I looked down to check my clothes and happily found they were all in place. I was so proud of myself, overjoyed about the fact that I succeed in keeping my d**k in my pants even I was drunk. I wouldn’t have to face the consequences! My mind was no longer burdened, so I got some time to closely observe my sister. An idea stroke me when I looked at her face. It is so white and blank, like a piece of paper. An artist can never bear such emptiness and it is my duty to add some color to it. I smirked and walked to the study room, looking for different colored pens. It was a difficult job because I wasn’t fully awaken from the dizziness and I couldn’t identify the colors and pick out my favorite ones. “Stop being a perfectionist, would you? Just grab a handful of pens and taint her face. Get things done quick so we could go back to sleep.”Max my wolf ordered between yawns. “How did you…”I blinked, shocking at his sudden appearance. “Oh come on man. I know you are in charge of this body for most time but you can’t lock your beast in cage forever. Not when you lose the control of your mind.”Max chanted in delight and added, “Unless you can stay awake forever.” “I will never drink again then.”I shrugged. “Are you so eager to get rid of me, your own wolf? Do you know there are a lot of omegas out there crying for being wolfless? You’re anything but grateful.”Max said, “Besides, it will be impossible for you to get rid of me.” Irritated by his manner, I argued, “Why? I told you I can stop drinking. I am not addicted to it so it will be easy.” “Correct. But what about the day when you smell your mate? You will lose control and I will appear again. I can assure you that.” “Guess you’re right.”I muttered. “The right one.”Max said. “What?” “It is red. Your favorite color. You’re welcome.”He snickered.. I rolled my eyes and randomly grabbed some markers EXCEPT the right one. I could hear Max’s laughter become louder. “Rebellious kid.” He remarked. I ignored my wolf and tiptoed quietly out of the room. I approached Joy silently and bent down, using a marker aiming at the area between her eyebrows. I was about to draw when she opened her mouth and said something. I paused, hesitating if I should find out what she was saying or should finish my job. I thought for a while and leaned lower to listen. “Sooner or later you’re going to be killed by your curiosity.”Max said ironnically, “It seemed that the principle not only work for cats but also wolves.” “Shut up.”I hissed at my wolf. Max took the order and remained silent. “What did you just say, Joy?”I whispered, tempting her to repeat herself. Silence stretched. When I thought I would never get any response from her, she opened her mouth. I held my breath and she uttered a name. Tyler.
